1. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:

a. Identify the character feelings based on their actions or on what they say.
b. Infer or interpret the character feelings and traits in a story listened to.
c. Practice honesty at all times.

4.1 Introductory Activity (5 mins.)

Unlocking of words through picture clues:

Angry – having a strong feeling of being upset or annoyed.

Sad – unhappy

Scared – afraid of something

Glad/ Happy – feeling pleasure, joy

As the teacher flash the facial cards, let the pupils imitate the feelings each card shows.

Asking questions:
1. Have you ever tried that when you came home, your mother and your father are not in home? What
did you do? What did you feel?

Let the pupils share experiences.

Unlocking of difficult words found in the story:

1. managsuon – show picture

2. nagkasabot – contextual clues

3. nagdakop-dakop – actual demonstration

4. nagkurog – actual demonstration


4.2 Activity (15 mins.)

Teacher will read a story entitled “Si Ted ug si Len”

Si Ted ug si Len

Sabado sa hapon, walay klase ang managsuon nga si Ted ug si Len. Sila lang duha ang
nahabilin sa balay tungod kay ang ilang inahan naninda man og utanon sa merkado ug ang
ilang amahan nagmaneho usab og jeep.

Nagkasabot ang duha nga magdakop-dakop sila sulod sa balay. Wala tuyoa, nasaghiran ni
Ted ang pitsil ug nahagbong sa salog ug nabuak kini. Puwerteng kuyawa ug nagkurog siya sa
kahadlok. Nakahunahuna si Ted nga ilabay ang nabuak nga pitsil ug dili magsaba sa ilang
mama ug papa. Iyang gisultihan si Len sa iyang nahunahunaan, apan si Len misugyot nga
motug-an siya sa tinuod.

Nakahilak si Ted sa kakuyaw. Naabtan siya sa iyang mama nga naghilak. Gipangutana siya
unsay iyang gihilakan. Nitug-an si Ted sa tinuod nga nahitabo.

Wala masuko ang iyang mama. Gipahimangnoan lang siya nga sa sunod mag-amping sa
paglihok-lihok para dili makadisgrasya.

4.3 Analysis (5 mins.)


Let the pupils answer the following (Oral Activity)

1. What happened when Ted and Len played inside their house?
2. How did Ted feel when the pitcher was broken?
3. What trait did Ted shown in the story?

4.4 Abstraction (3 mins.)

Ask:
What are the different feelings a person can have or express?

Remember: People can have different feelings. A person’s feelings show his emotions
(Happy, sad, angry, scared, etc.)

4.5 Application (5 mins.)


Oral Activity:

The teacher gives different situation, let the pupils raise the facial expression cards to
show the feeling expressed.

1. You got perfect score in the test.


2. You saw a big snake in the ground.
3. Somebody uses your personal belonging without permission.
4. You got zero score in the test.
5. You are alone in the dark room.

5. Assessment (10 mins.)

Direction: Draw the face to show how each feel in each situation.

6. Assignment (2 mins.)

The teacher provides photocopy of the story “Si Ted ug si Len” and let the pupil’s practice
reading at home.

7. Wrap-up / Concluding Activity (5 mins.)

Sing a song about feelings. Actions may be added.
