1. RATIONALE:
Gulayan sa Paaralan is one of the programs being implemented in all public elementary
and secondary schools nationwide supporting the Dep.Ed. Memorandum No.95 series 2018
that address malnutrition and promote vegetable production and consumption among school
children. This training aims to raise awareness among learners, teachers and parents the
importance of planting vegetables and encourage families in this time of pandemic to establish
their own home gardens for continuous and improved nutrition. This virtual training envisions
promoting food security in the school and the community through self-help food production
activities. It will also serve as an avenue to develop values among young learners, and
inculcate appreciation of agriculture as a life support system. Through this training, both will
have skills that will help them, as well as the community stakeholders that fulfil its mission to
provide an opportunity to make the school and the community more self-reliant and self-
sufficient and extend its efforts in protecting the environment, which is essential in building
sustainable and resilient communities.
I. OBJECTIVES:
This training aims to:
1. Raise awareness about the importance of planting vegetables and encourage families in this
time of pandemic to establish their own home gardens for continuous and improved nutrition.
2. Promote food security in the school and the community through self-help food production
activities

 Records the proceedings of the training
 Compiles all the documents relative to the training
 Organizes the documents and submits the same to the executive team.
 Captures important proceedings in pictures and in videos.
6. The Registration
 Provides registration sheet/link for all the participants
 Keeps the records of attendance of the participants
 Checks the attendance in the morning or afternoon session each day or if
done only on half day.
