EduComics Project

Junior Achievement of the Philippines

Johnson & Johnson

Junior Achievement of the Philippines Incorporated, the local arm of Junior

Achievement Worldwide in the Philippines, has a track record of almost 50 years
in
the fields of entrepreneurship education and financial literacy. Its main purpose is
to serve as an inspiration to transform fellow Filipino students’ experiences by
gauging them with learning supplements that would harness their knowledge and
understanding in preparing them for their future endeavors.
Junior Achievement of the Philippines is a non-stock, non-profit organization,
which
serves as an administrator of the Junior Achievement program in the country. This
organization aims to develop future business leaders with the help of partnering
and collaborating with different educational institutions in creating an impactful
program to let students understand the value of economics and entrepreneurship
and the difference it could create not just for the country but also for themselves
and the communities.

As of now, JA Philippines is tapping 160,000 students yearly nationwide.

In partnership with J&J, JA Philippines created a program called EduComics.

The EduComics program is for Female grade 5-6 students.

There is a growing need for professionals in the field of Science, Technology,

Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). It is considered the main driver for
innovation in all aspects of human existence. Knowledge is the oil powering the
information age. We recognize the need to prepare the younger generation to take
on the impending challenges of climate change which requires sustainable
solutions to ensure the future of humanity. Every human being needs to understand
critical thinking and valuing the process of evidence-based scientific inquiry.

STEM is also primarily a male-dominated field even today. We need more gender
diversity contributing to the growing body of knowledge that will help change the
world. Part of what motivated this series is not just to get kids interested in STEM
but also to encourage girls to pursue STEM careers inspired by Marie Curie, Jane
Goodall, or Hedy Lamarr.
EduComics is a new platform to showcase the beauty of science to students who
are interested in STEM 2 D fields. Its innovative and virtually interactive nature
allows students to enhance their problem-solving skills, reading proficiency, and
more. The quirky illustrations of the new learner center exude a feel-good vibe
which enhance the learning experience, making it interesting and fun at the same
time.

The EduComics will have 4 series. We will introduce characters Sci and Com.

Episode 1 which presents the concept on Mixture. In this episode the students will
recognize and describe its appearance.

Episode 2 of our EduComics. The students will enjoy a more colorful visual
presentation of the lesson on the systems of the body. They will know that a body
system is made up of several organs working together for a specific function. Each
organ is extremely important for the whole system to operate.

Episode 3 is about how ecosystem works, particularly the interaction among living
and non-living things. It also emphasizes that an ecosystem is a functional unit of
nature, where living organisms not only interact among themselves but also with
the surrounding physical environment.

Last the students will appreciate the dynamics of using energy, force, and motion,
how they are sustaining our life, and how these things interrelated with each other.
All these things you will learn is incredibly useful.
