  • 2 (6 ounce) cans boneless, skinless salmon, drained

  • 1 large egg, beaten

  • 2 tablespoons chopped onion, or more to taste

  • 2 tablespoons canola oil, or to taste

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Mix salmon, egg, and onion in a bowl with your hands until well combined. Mix in oats, a little at a time, until mixture holds together and is not overly moist. Shape into four patties.

  2. Heat oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat until butter is melted and mixture is hot. Add patties and fry until golden brown on the outside and heated through, about 7 minutes per side.
