As it’s the start of August and back-to-school is around the corner, we know what you’re probably thinking: fall is here. Even though the weather says otherwise, the grocery store sure thinks it is, thanks to the amount of pumpkin spice-flavored everything we’ve already seen on shelves.

But don't worry, Hershey’s isn’t all about Halloween just yet. Well, at least not with the launch of this new product—it has released some of its Halloween candy, too, but we’re pretending like we don’t see it next to this brand new Hershey’s chocolate bar.

Hershey’s quietly rolled out its new Hershey’s Crunchy Waffle Cone Bars at grocery stores nationwide this month, and we tried it.

The new milk chocolate candy is filled with crunchy waffle cone pieces for the perfect balance of sweet chocolate and buttery, savory waffle cone.

Hershey’s says it created the bar after the waffle cone “flavor” has skyrocketed in popularity since 2020. The new chocolate bar is reminiscent of Muddy Bites, Costco's Just The Fun Part bite-sized waffle cones filled with chocolate, and classic Drumstick ice cream cones with the chocolate-filled tip—but with the waffle cone on the inside. Think extra chocolate for each crunchy waffle cone piece.

Hershey’s new Crunchy Waffle Cone bars are arriving on shelves now, and you’ll find them in both standard- and king-sized bars.

We were among the first to try Hershey’s newest product, and here is our honest review.

Our Honest Review of Hershey's New Crunchy Waffle Cone Bars

The Allrecipes team taste-tested Hershey’s Crunchy Waffle Cone bar, and the first bite was met with silence as we all savored the delicious, creamy chocolate and perfectly baked waffle cones. The milk chocolate melts in your mouth as you're met with a crunchy, buttery, slightly salty waffle cone piece that somehow tastes like its fresh from the oven.

Unlike eating a cone filled with ice cream, Hershey’s waffle cone pieces don’t get soggy. Instead—much like the brand's beloved Cookies ‘N’ Creme bar—you get a nice textural difference between the soft chocolate and the snappy cone pieces.

One taster compared the candy to a Crunch Bar “but better” because instead of bland crisped rice, the waffle cone pieces offer a tasty, new flavor.

I kept picturing myself enjoying the Crunchy Waffle Cone chocolate on a late-summer s’more. The waffle cone pieces would add another layer of texture to the gooey s’more—plus, that delicious flavor.

And, why stop at s’mores? I’m all in for chopping up the bar and adding it to chocolate chunk cookies and brownies.

I think I’ve just found my new favorite baking ingredient—as long as I can resist devouring the bar on its own first.
