Snacks might even taste better when you grab a couple of bites immediately after grocery shopping as a reward for all of your hard work. This philosophy has certainly rung true on many a run to beloved discount chain Aldi. All of that money-saving and snack browsing can work up an appetite. When there is a great new find, it’s cause for a celebration of the best kind: a parking lot taste test. There is a new Aldi product that has customers doing just that: grabbing a bag, snacking on it before they even reach their car, and immediately regretting not buying more bags. With such an enthusiastic response, dare I say that we have a new frozen sweet treat of the summer on our hands?! Aldi’s New Cookie Dough and Toffee Gelato Bites There is a new addition to the freezer section of Aldi, and they come in the form of bite-sized cubes of gelato. These adorable, mini treats are small portions of gelato coated in chocolate. They come in two flavors–cookie dough and toffee–and cost $4 for 10 bites. This is not Aldi’s first time selling gelato bites. But this particular product stands out, because it's reminiscent of a pint of frozen gelato or ice cream that is filled with delicious mix-ins. For fans of a “chunky” frozen desserts, these treats give all of the best parts of a flavor-packed scoop in one delicious bite. The toffee iteration is filled with toffee-flavored ice cream and topped with a biscuit crumble, while the cookie dough flavor consists of vanilla gelato with a cookie dough center. I might be a little biased (I've made it clear I love a good gelato treat), but this might be the ultimate frozen dessert. I’m not sure who came up with these flavor combinations, but I can confidently say that they are onto something delicious. And many fans couldn’t agree more. Some have headed to Reddit to share the good news of the find and warn others to grab more than one bag, since these treats seem to disappear fast. What Fans Are Saying About Aldi’s Gelato Bites To kick off the love for Aldi’s new gelato bites, one user posted a photo of the cookie dough flavor on Reddit. They captioned the post “Spectacular… Give me 14 of them right now.” If this user’s excitement isn’t already clear enough in the enthusiastic title, the accompanying photo shows an already opened bag of gelato bites with the Aldi parking lot in the background. “I like that you tried them in the parking lot before even putting your groceries in the car,” a commenter pointed out. Clearly, the treat is too good to wait for. If this interaction doesn’t sum up what it is like to find a great new snack during a grocery store run, I’m not sure what does. With the unloaded groceries in the back of the photo, the message is clear: Run, don’t walk, to your nearest Aldi for this new treat. And, don’t make the mistake of only grabbing one bag–it might not even make it out of the parking lot. Other users expressed their similar excitement for the treat. “I would live on the cookie dough ones. And, I’m lactose intolerant,” one reviewer added. Based on this comment, it seems these bites have gathered some very dedicated fans. We still have some hot days of summer left in front of us, and these bites have arrived just in time. But this treat probably won’t be around forever, so make sure to grab a bag (or 14) of these frozen masterpieces while you have the chance. I won’t judge if your freezer is full of just bags of gelato bites—chances are, mine looks exactly the same. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why! Other Submit
