cmach reviewed Lindsey’s Prosciutto e Melone on a Stick Recipe. April 2024
Crowd-pleaser Family favorite
I have made these and Antipasto on stick ( on this site) numerous times exactly as written but today we combined them, added and deleted items based on the 3 and 5 year old chefs direction. They made this on a busy Easter! We used the cantaloupe and black grapes , subbed ham cubes for prosciutto, black olives, grape tomatoes, cheddar cheese cubes, and pineapple- great healthy app to offset the Easter Bunny treats! Thanks for the idea!

My 3 and 5 year old grandkids had so much fun making these. I had all the ingredients and let them thread as desired- interesting to see my grandson eat basil. The only thing they didn’t eat were the artichokes (made up by extra olives) but adults enjoyed. Great easy recipe. We had turkey pepperoni as well as salami for my vegetarian daughter. Pineapple will be added next time. Thanks! I had previously made the for an adult dinner party and they were a hit!

I think this is Such a Cute and delicious idea. This is my daughter’s favorite salad!! I do have some suggestions:Instead of cooking your bacon buy an already cooked bacon which would be much easier to wrap around because they have a good consistency that would hold your wrapped lettuce together much easier! Second idea, with such a cute idea you want to present them at a party at their Best and value your time and effort you’ve put into making these special bites for guest!! So when you take them to a party take them all wrapped up with your bacon in a Tupperware with ice on the bottom & foil or ziplock on the top where this would keep them fresh & cool. Then when you arrive set them up on your tray and then put your cheese and dressing on. Another idea I thought of was for those people who don’t like blue cheese dressing put ranch and blue cheese dressings on the side instead. You could also try putting balsamic on the side also for those with lactose issues.Just a thought? !!!! I’m making these for Sure on my next gathering! Thxs Lindsey 🏆

I made these for a recent family gathering and received many compliments on the presentation, though they are simple to make and took very little time. I used Monterrey Jack cheese as it has more flavor than the Mozzarella and I also added balsamic vinegar to the olive oil which I highly recommend, about 3:1 ratio. I forgot to buy fresh basil so just sprinkled some dried over the finished product. I also prefer Cherub tomatoes.
