Original recipe (1X) yields 8 servings 1 (12 ounce) loaf French bread olive oil spray 4 tablespoons salted butter, softened 5 cloves garlic, pressed 12 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced 4 small tomatoes, sliced, or more as needed salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste 1/3 cup chopped fresh basil drizzle of balsamic glaze Directions Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C), and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut bread in half lengthwise, lightly spray with olive oil, and place on the baking sheet, cut side up. In a small bowl, combine butter and garlic; spread evenly on the bread halves, and top with mozzarella slices. Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is melted, and bread edges are starting to brown, 8 to 11 minutes. Remove from the oven, place tomato slices on top of the cheese, season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle with basil. Drizzle with balsamic glaze, cut into slices, and serve.
