"Überlin" is a song by American alternative rock band R.E.M.. It was released as the second single from their fifteenth and final studio album Collapse into Now on January 25, 2011.
Berlin is a 2009 documentary series co-developed by the BBC and the Open University. Written and presented by Matt Frei, the series has three 60-minute episodes, each dealing with a different aspect of the history of Germany's capital city.
Episodes
Episode 1 – "Dangerous Ideas"
Using the life and posthumous legacy of Frederick the Great as its central theme, this episode covers some of the most notable political, social and cultural movements to emerge within Berlin over the past two centuries.
Episode 2 – "Ruined Visions"
From the advent of the former Berliner Stadtschloss to the Palast der Republik which for a time took its place, from the creation of the Bauakademie to that of the Olympic Stadium, and from the rise of the Fernsehturm to the rejuvenation of the Reichstag, this episode looks at the varied periods of construction, destruction and renewal seen in the architecture of the city of Berlin.
Episode 3 – "Ich bin ein Berliner"
Turning to look at the legacy which history has placed upon the people of Berlin – and that which Berliners themselves have offered in turn – this episode charts the tumultuous eras which the city has endured, for good or ill, through the course of the 19th and 20th centuries.

A car was driven into a crowd of people at a Christmas market in the central German city of Magdeburg on Friday night.bAt least two people have been killed, according to Saxony-Anhalt's state premier, Reiner Haseloff. City spokesperson Michael Reif said there were "numerous injured," with media reports suggesting that number to be around 70. Police have taken the driver into custody, according to local government sources cited by Germany's dpa news agency. Authorities say the individual, a Saudi national, is not known to have Islamist ties. Authorities have closed the Christmas market and emergency services are at the scene. A spokesperson for Magdeburg University Hospital told dpa that the first 10-20 victims have already arrived at the facility, adding, "We are currently gearing up [for more]. Intensive care beds are ready." No information about the driver of the car been released and despite wild public speculation on social media sites authorities in Magdeburg have avoided any statement on a possible motive. Friday's incident did, nevertheless, trigger memories of a 2016 attack on a Berlin Christmas market. That crime, perpetrated by an Islamist in a stolen truck, killed 13 and injured more than 70.
