"Überlin" is a song by American alternative rock band R.E.M.. It was released as the second single from their fifteenth and final studio album Collapse into Now on January 25, 2011.
Berlin is a 2009 documentary series co-developed by the BBC and the Open University. Written and presented by Matt Frei, the series has three 60-minute episodes, each dealing with a different aspect of the history of Germany's capital city.
Episodes
Episode 1 – "Dangerous Ideas"
Using the life and posthumous legacy of Frederick the Great as its central theme, this episode covers some of the most notable political, social and cultural movements to emerge within Berlin over the past two centuries.
Episode 2 – "Ruined Visions"
From the advent of the former Berliner Stadtschloss to the Palast der Republik which for a time took its place, from the creation of the Bauakademie to that of the Olympic Stadium, and from the rise of the Fernsehturm to the rejuvenation of the Reichstag, this episode looks at the varied periods of construction, destruction and renewal seen in the architecture of the city of Berlin.
Episode 3 – "Ich bin ein Berliner"
Turning to look at the legacy which history has placed upon the people of Berlin – and that which Berliners themselves have offered in turn – this episode charts the tumultuous eras which the city has endured, for good or ill, through the course of the 19th and 20th centuries.

What Happened Immediately After Hitler's Death
On April 30, 1945, Adolf Hitler took his life in his subterranean Berlin bunker. The impact of his suicide on the war was more emotional than strategic. He killed himself because he understood that surrender and capture were inevitable. Still, in the aftermath of Hitler's suicide, there were many consequences and reactions on an individual and a collective level.
Individual German government figures and the German people had radical and diverse reactions to the news of his demise. Some officials rightfully anticipated that it was time to vanish to avoid arrest and responsibility for the unspeakable crimes of the Third Reich. Here are some of the causes of the things that happened immediately after.

The Paranoid Final Few Days of Adolf Hitlers Life...
Nazi Germany was to be a society unlike any other. That was Hitler’s ambition – his dream; to lead the greatest nation on Earth. Technologically. Militarily. Scientifically. Germany was to be the envy of the world. Berlin, renamed Germania, would become the most developed and prosperous city in all of history, its magnificence leaving the famed capitals of empires of old such as Rome and Athens a mere shadow in comparison. Yet, just 12 years after his rise to power, Berlin lay in ruins having been smashed in Allied air raids. Its surviving citizens, living in squalor with most amenities destroyed and supply lines unreliable, were pressed into the defense of a city that was mostly rubble and bodies while the sound of gunfire and T-34 tanks grew ever closer. Beneath the rubble, in the crampe...

Beneath the rubble, in the cramped confines of a bunker built to house the leadership before the end came, Hitler and his Nazi Germany seemed symbiotically connected as both faced impending oblivion. This is the story of the final days of the Fuhrer Adolf Hitler.
