(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To
"(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To" is a song by American alternative rock/power pop band Weezer. It was released as the first single from the band's seventh studio album Raditude. Initially scheduled to be released to American rock radio on August 25, 2009, the official release of the single to radio was moved up to August 18. The single debuted at number 21 on the BillboardRock Songs Chart, and in the same position on the Alternative Songs chart. The music video features Odette Yustman. The song was first played live on August 23, 2009 in Toronto, Ontario at the Molson Amphitheatre.
The music video was released on October 23.
Directed by Marc Webb, the music video revolves around the members of the band living a normal life until a beautiful lady played by Odette Yustman comes to the town. Her callousness and disregard leads to multiple band members being injured while trying to impress her, leaving only frontman Rivers Cuomo unhurt, though upon seeing his injured bandmates, Cuomo rejects the woman, to their approval.
Tokyo! is a 2008 anthology film containing three segments written by three non-Japanese directors, all of which were filmed in Tokyo, Japan. Michel Gondry directed "Interior Design", Leos Carax directed "Merde", and Bong Joon-ho directed "Shaking Tokyo".
Plot
"Interior Design"
Directed by Michel Gondry. It is an adaptation of the short story comic "Cecil and Jordan in New York" by Gabrielle Bell.
Hiroko and Akira (Ayako Fujitani and Ryō Kase) are a young couple from the provinces who arrive in Tokyo with limited funds, short-term lodging and what appears to be a solid and mutually supportive relationship that will seemingly carry them through any challenge. Akira is an aspiring filmmaker whose debut feature will soon screen in the city — and hopefully lead to a more solid career; in the interim, he lands work wrapping gifts at a local department store. After securing short-term housing in the cramped studio apartment of old school chum Akemi (Ayumi Ito) — a career girl with a demanding boyfriend who grows weary of Akemi's houseguests — Hiroko hits the streets of Tokyo in search of a suitable apartment, finding a series of rat-infested hovels that neither she nor Akira can afford on their limited salaries. After Akira's film screens to dubious acclaim, one spectator informs Hiroko of the inherent struggles in relationships between creative types: often, one half of a couple feels invisible, useless, or unappreciated, something Hiroko relates to wholeheartedly in the wake of her numerous trials and tribulations in the unfamiliar city of Tokyo. She starts to question her role in the relationship, resulting in a startling transformation in which she turns into a wooden chair, and is taken in by a young man.
The song entered and peaked at #4 on Swedish Trackslistan on 24 February 2007 and charted for six weeks. The song peaked at #1 on the Swedish singles chart on 22 February 2007.

“Cheap Trick” is a band which was an excellent remix of pop, rock, heavy metal and punk. Formed in 1973 in Illinois, this American band consisted of Robin Zander (Vocals), Rick Nielsen (Guitars), Tom Petersson (Bass) and Bun E. Carlos (Drums). Their self titled debut album in 1977 did not fare that well, but the second album “In Color” the same year was more polished and successful. Their commercial worldwide break through was resulted with their 1978 live album “At Budokan.” “At Budokan” was an unexpectedly successful album, recorded during their 1978 Japan tour. It was originally released in Japan only but later due to excessively high demand, it was released worldwide and became their most successful album ever. With various ups and downs, they have been constantly making music and touring all over the world, going strong till present date.
“At Budokan” was their fourth album and first concert album. Although intended to be released in Japan only from their Japan tour, this phenomenally successful album was certified triple platinum by RIAA in 1986. It was ranked 426 on the Rolling Stones’ “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. Undoubtedly, the album gave Cheap Trick all what a rock band could ever ask for. It stormed the charts worldwide, became their most successful album and has been a quintessential live album for a rock fan.
“I want you to want me” was originally released in Cheap Trick’s second album “In Color”. This version was also released as a single but found moderate success in US but was much more successful in Japan. This had paved the pathway for their Japan tour and the live version from “At Budokan” became their biggest selling single till date. The opening track of “At Budokan”, this song literally proves how an enthusiastic crowd can enhance the quality of a song. Undoubtedly, this version is far more superior than the original version, because of the excitement frenzy of the crowd.
The song begins with the opening introduction by Robin Zander with gleefully cheering crowd in the background. Immediately, the tempo begins with Carlos’ drums, followed by the rhythm guitar. Fine bass, upbeat drums, crowd cheering harmoniously, short but impressive guitar solos, all add the magic to the song. The song itself is relatively short and sweet, with simple pangs of a lover. One of the most important aspects of this version is the crowd. The background crowd cheering is just phenomenal. The Japanese crowd has shown amazing discipline even in a rock concert!
Slightly variant from the original version, the live version is slightly upbeat with more guitar oriented sound. The dual solo in-between the song is also equally charismatic. Overall, a simple love song, exquisitely performed by the artists as well as the crowd together, the song suddenly halts towards the end and gives another surprising beat to the listener. And in the end, the song is followed by the frenzy crowd and guitar solo fading slowly.
“Cheap Trick” have given us many memorable numbers, but when it comes to excitement, nothing beats the crowd cheering of “I want you to want me” and of course, we want all of you to want it forever..…....
Happy listening!!
