In 2010, the building was assessed in preparation for a rehabilitation project to address interior water damage and the need to replace the electrical and heating and air conditioning systems. Additionally, the Connecticut Department of Transportation plans to add a new commuter service called the Hartford Line in collaboration with Amtrak and the federal government that will run between New Haven and Springfield, Massachusetts. As of late 2015, funding had been secured and the service is scheduled to begin operation in early 2018.
Noted features of the historic depot include prominent brick quoins and arches, as well as large arched tripartite windows embellished with colorful stained glass. The waiting room is still dominated by the original ticket office, whose corners are gently rounded. Resembling those in other early 20th century New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad facilities, it is a three-sided structure placed against the western wall of the station; the bottom third is covered in bead board while the upper portion features recessed rectangular panels. Dentil molding finishes off the upper edge of the office wall. With many of its interior finishes largely unaltered, Berlin is often considered one of the best preserved of Connecticut’s small 19th century depots.
"Überlin" is a song by American alternative rock band R.E.M.. It was released as the second single from their fifteenth and final studio album Collapse into Now on January 25, 2011.
Berlin is a 2009 documentary series co-developed by the BBC and the Open University. Written and presented by Matt Frei, the series has three 60-minute episodes, each dealing with a different aspect of the history of Germany's capital city.
Episodes
Episode 1 – "Dangerous Ideas"
Using the life and posthumous legacy of Frederick the Great as its central theme, this episode covers some of the most notable political, social and cultural movements to emerge within Berlin over the past two centuries.
Episode 2 – "Ruined Visions"
From the advent of the former Berliner Stadtschloss to the Palast der Republik which for a time took its place, from the creation of the Bauakademie to that of the Olympic Stadium, and from the rise of the Fernsehturm to the rejuvenation of the Reichstag, this episode looks at the varied periods of construction, destruction and renewal seen in the architecture of the city of Berlin.
Episode 3 – "Ich bin ein Berliner"
Turning to look at the legacy which history has placed upon the people of Berlin – and that which Berliners themselves have offered in turn – this episode charts the tumultuous eras which the city has endured, for good or ill, through the course of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Even though the Wall has since been dismantled, the sculpture was bought by the city from Mrs. Matschinsky-Denninghoff to commemorate the unfortunate chapter in German history.
History
Berlin was one of eight sculptures designed during "Skulpturenboulevard Kurfürstendamm" (Boulevard of Sculptures: Kurfürstendamm), an event commissioned by the city of West Berlin to celebrate Berlin's 750th anniversary in 1987. Of the eight sculptures unveiled, three were allowed to remain past the anniversary year (Berlin, Pyramide, and Cadillacs in Form der nackten Maja); the city and Deutsche Bank acquired Berlin after its original lease had expired.
Connecticut wine refers to wine made from grapes and other fruit grown in the U.S. state of Connecticut. The modern wine industry in Connecticut began with the passage of the Connecticut Winery Act in 1978. The wineries in Connecticut are located throughout the state, including in the two designated American Viticultural Areas in the state. The climate in the coastal region near Long Island Sound and the Connecticut River valley tends to be warmer than the highlands in the eastern and western sides of the state.
Connecticut Wine Trail
The Connecticut Wine Trail is route linking approved wineries located in the state of Connecticut. As of 2015, there are 33 wineries on the trail. Members of the CT Wine Trail participate with other Connecticut farm wineries in the Passport to Connecticut Farm Wineries sponsored by the Connecticut Farm Wine Development Council and the Connecticut Department of Agriculture.
Sherman P. Haight Jr. of Haight Vineyard in Litchfield conceived of the idea of the wine trail in 1988. It was officially dedicated by the state in 1992 with five wineries. The trail has grown over time to its current roster of 23 wineries as of 2011.

Great afternoon railfanning at Berlin Station with Amtrak & CT Rail | (5/12/2023)
For CT Rail 4463 I made a mistake. I thought 4463 was late by 5-10 minutes, so I turned my camera around for 476 & then 4463 snuck up behind me. So unfortunately I did not get a shot of 4463 arriving. However this day was much fun I had to post the video. Anyways I hope you enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed making it

Railfanning Berlin Station
After my last day of school and being vaccinated I decided it was time to change things up so HartfordLine Railfan and I hopped on CTrail 4458. We watched the evening rush at Berlin. We were also able to catch CSO-2 doing 50 mph through the station in the daylight. Unfortunately due to Amtrak 148 being late we saw both this and CSO-2’s return from the CTrail 4467. I tried to film this however it was to dark to see anything. All around it was a great day and fun to be on a train again. Thank you so much for watching and God Bless!!!

Just a quick tour of the newly completed Berlin CT Train Station that will serve both AMTRAK and CT Rail's Hartford Train Line. Job well done CT DOT!!!!

On this day I went to Berlin station for the whole day. We got a lot of good catches such as: Amtrak 40th anniversary unit 145 (Phase III), a meet between 463 & 6454, CT Rail Hartford Line 6456 on track 1 & Amtrak 50th anniversary unit 100 (Midnight blue). Overall it was a pretty successful day in my opinion

I am pretty disappointed that I mostly missed that first train, but I thought this was a fun visit to Berlin and it was interesting anyway. I will also be uploading the third day of trains on the northeast corridor probably within the next week when I have time.
