The Coco Alliance is the majority alliance on the Coco tribe in Survivor 43. With the help of affiliates Cody Assenmacher, Jesse Lopez, and Sami Layadi, the Coco Alliance was able to control the early merge, but began to fall apart following James' blindside at the Double Elimination.

History[]

Women's Alliance[]

After losing the opening Reward Challenge on Day 1, the Coco tribe opted to perform the "Sweat" task, nominating Geo Bustamante and Ryan Medrano to complete it. Meanwhile, Cassidy Clark, Karla Cruz Godoy, and Lindsay Carmine agreed to work together. Lindsay then pulled James Jones into the alliance to give them the majority.

Coco won the first three Immunity Challenges, giving the alliance members time to solidify their bonds with each other. They decided that if they lost an Immunity Challenge, Geo would be the first to go because of his physical weakness in comparison to Ryan.

Lindsay's Paranoia[]

On Day 9, the Coco tribe lost their first Immunity Challenge after their rivals Baka and Vesi decided to collude against the still-undefeated tribe. Facing Tribal Council, the Coco Alliance opted to cast their votes against Geo as planned. However, Lindsay began to question her standing within the tribe. Her paranoia manifested in her openly distrusting her allies, which forced Cassidy, James, and Karla to re-evaluate their partnership with her. In the end, Geo was spared as the alliance sought to consolidate loyalty within their members; Lindsay was eliminated due to her potential unpredictability down the road.

Loaded Gun[]

After being spared at the previous Tribal Council, Geo and his ally Ryan believed that they had integrated with the Coco majority. This emboldened them to make a move against Cassidy. Ryan brazenly threw the next Immunity Challenge, forcing Coco to attend yet another Tribal Council. At camp, Ryan continued to campaign against Cassidy, even offering himself up as a decoy boot.

Meanwhile, Geo was sent on a summit, where he feigned being on the bottom of the Coco tribe to gain sympathy from Jeanine Zheng and Jesse Lopez, hoping to win an advantage. Despite failing in his attempt to persuade his summit co-attendees, Geo found that he had won the Knowledge is Power advantage.

At camp, Geo initially lied to his tribemates that he did not choose to risk his vote. Later, however, he privately disclosed to Karla the nature of his advantage. Karla, who had already activated her Hidden Immunity Idol through the Beware Advantage, was worried by this revelation and shared this information with her allies. Though Cassidy began to display the same paranoia that had gotten Lindsay eliminated the round before, the alliance decided that Geo's advantage was too much of a risk to keep in the game. That night, the alliance stayed strong and eliminated Geo, blindsiding Ryan in the process.

Joining with the Vesis[]

During the Earn the Merge cycle, it initially appeared that Baka and Vesi would continue to work together against Coco, after displaying their apparent intent to do so during the pre-merge challenges. Elie Scott proposed that the Baka-Vesi coalition split the vote between Cassidy Clark and James Jones, the two members of Coco who were vulnerable that night. However, Mike Gabler revealed during the merge feast that he did not trust Elie and wanted her out. Seizing on this crack, the Coco Alliance pulled in Ryan to form a strong four before attempting to solidify the numbers against Elie.

At camp, Ryan revealed to the Cocos what the Baka-Vesi coalition had been planning. During this time, Karla had begun forging a partnership with Sami Layadi, who also did not trust Elie, and Jesse. Though he had previously lost his vote, Jesse realized that it was going to be the Vesi tribe that would dictate the upcoming vote, and when Cody Assenmacher found out that Elie had used his name as the decoy boot, the Vesi men joined the Coco Alliance to boot Elie. This vote drew a line in the sand, as Jeanine Zheng, Noelle Lambert and Owen Knight found themselves left in the minority.

After the final thirteen Tribal Council, James emerged as the figurehead for the alliance, which with Cody, Jesse, and Sami's votes now constituted the majority on the new Gaia tribe. The Baka and Vesi outsiders contemplated taking James out to weaken the alliance, and this plan became more tempting after James publicly discovered an advantage at the Gaia water well after the final twelve Immunity Challenge. Correctly predicting that James had found the Knowledge is Power advantage, the former Baka and Vesi members decided to unite to split the votes between James and Ryan. During this time, the advantage holders within this coalition decided to pass their advantages amongst each other to defuse the threat of James' advantage.

However, Cody and Jesse realized that Noelle was quickly consolidating power within the tribe. To weaken her, they decided to go against her number-one ally Dwight. The Coco Alliance and Sami were on board with this idea and, at Tribal Council, Dwight was blindsided, apparently leaving with Jeanine's idol in his pocket.
