The Advantage Alliance is an alliance formed on the Kula Kula tribe in Survivor 42.
The alliance was the product of multiple advantages introduced during the pre-merge that encouraged cross-tribal collaboration. Hoping to control the early merge as a supermajority, all advantage holders were recruited into the alliance with eight advantages between them. Despite holding strong for the first few rounds after the merge, the alliance slowly fractured and turned on itself until it eventually disbanded at the final six.

Formation[]
During the opening Reward Challenge on Day 1, Drea Wheeler, Hai Giang and Lindsay Dolashewich came into possession of a three-way shared advantage, the Advantage Amulet. Upon reuniting at the merge, the three came together and agreed to work together. Similarly, Drea united with Mike Turner based on their possession of the Hidden Immunity Idols, opening an avenue for collaboration. These connections gave way to discussions on the merged beach. During one particular discussion, Drea, Hai, and Jonathan Young met to discuss their tribal dynamics. Following this, the three castaways gathered their numbers: Drea agreed to bring her Ika tribemate Rocksroy Bailey into the alliance, Hai offered to bring in Mike and Lydia Meredith from Vati, and Jonathan brought his Taku allies Lindsay and Omar Zaheer into the fold.
At the same time, Drea, Hai, and Jonathan agreed that Tori Meehan, Chanelle Howell, and Maryanne Oketch were the lowest on their respective tribes' totem poles. Drea had also begun distancing herself from her former Ika ally Romeo Escobar. The alliance decided that Chanelle and Tori would be suitable as first targets for the newly formed alliance of eight. Since Tori was on the winning team at the first post-merge Immunity Challenge, Chanelle appeared to be the likely target at the first merged Tribal Council.
However, when Rocksroy destroyed the Hourglass on Exile Island, Chanelle was granted immunity and the winning team, which contained four alliance members and Maryanne, suddenly became vulnerable. Things became even more complicated when the alternate target Tori won individual immunity, forcing the alliance to turn on each other much earlier than expected. Jonathan stood out as the main threat for his perceived potential to dominate in Immunity Challenges, but there was hesitancy from Hai, Mike, and Rocksroy due to Jonathan's suitability as a shield. Thus, the alliance considered Maryanne as their target due to her possession of an idol. However, despite not having a vote, Omar decided to step in to protect Jonathan. In the process, he would set his sights against Lydia, using her apparent lack of loyalty to the alliance against her, even campaigning for Hai and Mike's votes to achieve this. In the end, Omar proved successful in convincing his alliance to sacrifice Lydia.
A Line in the Sand[]
Returning from Tribal Council on Night 14, it became obvious to Chanelle, Maryanne, Romeo, and Tori that there was a majority alliance that had banded together. Omar used the fact that he did not vote to gain footing with these outsiders and play double agent to gather intel. The alliance agreed to continue targeting Chanelle and Tori, but as Romeo got restless from his paranoia, the members began to consider taking him out as well.
When Tori won the Immunity Challenge on Day 16, Drea became frustrated as Tori was her desired target. Mike campaigned against Chanelle to end their feud that had started from their time on Vati. Meanwhile, Hai attempted to flip the numbers against Romeo for his skittishness, but Jonathan, Mike, and Rocksroy remained steadfast against Chanelle. At Tribal Council, Mike would get his way as Chanelle left in a 7-3-1 vote, with Omar voting alongside outsiders Chanelle and Maryanne against Romeo, and Hai receiving a vote from Romeo.
The Misogynist Club[]
On Day 17, Rocksroy proposed a plan to the five men within the alliance, suggesting that they unite and take advantage of the 6-4 numbers' advantage that the men held over the women. While Jonathan and Mike looked favorably upon this, Hai and Omar were unpersuaded and thought about taking Rocksroy out instead.
At the Double Elimination, the Kula Kula men sans Jonathan were put on the same team. When Hai won immunity, Romeo's elimination seemed certain. However, Hai and Omar decided that Rocksroy's strategic unpredictability made him a bigger threat than Romeo. Despite his reluctance, citing the potential that they might make themselves look untrustworthy, Mike caved to Hai's proposal and Rocksroy was blindsided in a 4-1 vote.
On the other team, Jonathan proposed blindsiding Drea to get rid of her idol. He pulled in Lindsay and Maryanne, and used Maryanne as a decoy vote. However, when Drea and Maryanne saw that Rocksroy had been voted out, they were alarmed and decided to play their idols to prevent another person of color from being eliminated in a row. This forced the alliance to default to voting out Tori.
Taking Out the King[]
After returning to camp, Mike expressed his frustration with being made to follow Hai's direction. Omar leveraged this to drive a wedge between them and bring Mike closer to himself. When Omar and Mike were selected by Lindsay to join her on reward, Omar continued to deceive Mike, lying that Hai referred to him as his "puppet". Tired of following his lead, Mike decided to end his alliance with Hai. Lindsay then shared that she held the Amulet Advantage with Drea and Hai, and the three people entertained the idea of blindsiding Hai to give Lindsay more power. At the same time, Lindsay was targeting Jonathan for his challenge performances, and Hai was onboard with taking him out.
After Lindsay won the final eight Immunity Challenge, Hai and Jonathan were up on the chopping block. Mike lied to Hai that they were solid, while Hai, believing he was safe, attempted to convince Jonathan not to play his Shot in the Dark. Drea and Maryanne were both onboard with blindsiding Hai, while Omar wondered if it would be an option to keep him now that he had no allies. In the end, the alliance turned on Hai, blindsiding him in a 6-2 vote.
Final Five(?)[]
The five remaining members of the alliance consolidated their allegiance with each other, agreeing to eliminate Maryanne and Romeo before fighting it out at the final five. However, Mike told Omar that he did not actually intend to follow through with this final five plan, instead deciding to blindside Drea for her threat status and to get rid of her Extra Vote. This alarmed Omar, who saw that Mike was filling Hai's previous role as the person running the alliance. At the same time, Jonathan's increasing irritability turned Drea and Lindsay against him.
After Jonathan won the Immunity Challenge, Lindsay's position in the game was jeopardized by the Do or Die twist. The tribe continued to plan for a vote that night, and separate plans were hatched against Drea and Mike. Drea intended to use her Knowledge is Power to steal Mike's idol and blindside him, while Mike continued to lead the charge against Drea. Drea shared her advantage with Omar, who then conspired with Lindsay to tell Mike about Drea's advantage, take his idol, then blindside him to gain possession of the idol. The pair became the swing votes between the two possible plans.
At Tribal Council, Lindsay survived the Do or Die twist and gained immunity; this was then followed by a vote, forcing Lindsay and Omar to decide who to get rid of. Before the vote however, Drea followed through with playing her advantage; this failed as Mike had yielded his idol to Omar that afternoon. In the end, Mike got his way as Drea went out in a 5-3 vote after unsuccessfully playing her Extra Vote with only Romeo on her side. On her way out, she left in high spirits, but revealed that Omar had double-crossed her and proclaimed that Mike will win the game, which he deemed a "kiss of death".
Survivor Confident[]
Returning to camp, the members of the alliance reassessed their plans. Omar returned Mike the idol, while Lindsay found herself immune at the next Tribal Council now that her amulet had upgraded to a Hidden Immunity Idol. Lindsay and Omar continued on their track to take Jonathan out, while Jonathan, Maryanne, and Mike all realized that Omar was becoming too much of a threat for his slick social gameplay. Jonathan also sussed out his and Lindsay's plan to take him out.
By winning the Immunity Challenge, Lindsay successfully kept Jonathan vulnerable and gained the option to play the amulet on Omar. Their plan foiled, Jonathan and Mike decided that the safest option would be to target Romeo to avoid being idoled out. Meanwhile, Lindsay and Omar agreed not to use the amulet to prevent the possibility that another idol was introduced at the final five. Behind the scenes, Maryanne was working with Jonathan and Mike on a plan to blindside Omar. At Tribal Council, Lindsay and Omar were blindsided when they kept to the Jonathan plan as Maryanne executed a 3-2-2 split plurality vote, successfully knocking out Omar, who had previously claimed that he was feeling "Survivor confident".
Broken Loyalties[]
Returning to a new beach after Tribal Council, Lindsay was flummoxed and confronted Jonathan for betraying their alliance. Jonathan defended himself by saying that he knew she was gunning for him. While Jonathan and Mike campaigned for Lindsay's elimination at the final five, she realized that she had to win the next Immunity Challenge to guarantee her safety. Lindsay went on to find a Challenge Advantage at the new camp, but she would go on to be narrowly defeated in the challenge. Mike promised Jonathan, Lindsay, and Maryanne that he would play his idol for them; at Tribal Council, he ended up playing it for Maryanne. Though Maryanne and Romeo considered working with Lindsay to eliminate Jonathan, she was eliminated that night in a unanimous vote.
At the final four, Romeo won the Final Immunity Challenge and had to decide who to bring to the finals. He decided that Mike was the biggest threat and had to choose who he would face off in the fire-making challenge. Romeo decided to stay loyal to his late-game ally Maryanne, thus pitting Jonathan and Mike for the final seat at Final Tribal Council. Mike won and took the last spot in the Final Three, while Jonathan was eliminated.
At Final Tribal Council, Mike was praised for his social game, but was interrogated harshly by the jury for his deceptive gameplay which contradicted the code of honor that he preached. Mike floundered in defending his strategy and went on to lose the jury vote, finishing as the runner-up in a 7-1-0 vote to Maryanne.
