The Battle of the Gauntlet was a military action undertaken by the Republic Military to destroy the Gauntlet, a superweapon belonging to the Sith Empire during the early days of the Galactic War. A faster-than-light hyperspace cannon mounted on a Harrower-class dreadnought, the Gauntlet was to be put into mass production upon completion, but a combined attack by the Fifth Assault Fleet of the Republic Navy under Fleet Admiral Numinn and several divisions of the Republic Army and the Republic Special Forces Division, including the SpecForce units Havoc Squad and the Safecrackers, resulted in the superweapon's destruction.
