In 2005, the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Nintendo's online gaming service, began with the Nintendo DS. Also, major games such as Resident Evil 4, Mario Kart DS, and many others were released in 2005. It was also the year when the original Nintendo DS was released in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, UK, India, Hong Kong, and China, as well as the release of the Game Boy Micro, the last model in the Game Boy line and the backlit version of the Game Boy Advance SP.
