Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd.(JP) is a Japanese video game developer and publisher that has published games for Nintendo's systems since 1985. They own many game franchises like Metal Gear and Castlevania.
History[]
Konami established the subsidiary Ultra Games in 1988 to get around Nintendo's restrictions to the amount of NES games a single publisher could release. With the SNES, Nintendo relaxed their restrictions so, Konami stopped the label in 1992.
In 2012, the company absorbed Hudson Soft assets and now owns their library.
In 2015, Konami rollbacked its development following the dissolution of Kojima Productions. Most of their gaming resources went to mobile games. However, with the success of Super Bomberman R, Konami has decided to revive their classic franchises on consoles.
