Macross Fufonfia (マックロッスfufonfia(フフォンフィア), Makkurossu Fufyonfia) is a series of webshorts animated by I Was A Ballerina and Satelight. It is a spoof based on the characters from Macross Frontier, placing them into the roles of employees of the software development company "Frontier Software". It has twenty episodes and aired on MBS from April 3, 2008 to September 25, 2008

Overview

Macross Fufonfia is set in a contemporary software development company setting, with the Macross Frontier cast as office mates. Hilarity ensues as the company welcome new employees Ranka Lee and Nanase Matsuura, all while dealing the ego of Sheryl Nome. Meanwhile, Bobby Margot is an Office Lady (OL) and Alto Saotome and Michael Blanc work in the programming department. The series deals with office romance, gossip, feuds through wacky conversation scenes.

Release

Macross Fufonfia was produced as a series of two-minute shorts and animated by Satelight. It premiered Japan on MBS on April 3, 2008. A pre-broadcast airing, called Macross Frontier Deculture Edition or Macross Special Edition, showcasing a preview version of the first episode was aired on December 23, 2007. The series also received its satellite television premiere in Japan on Animax on April 7, 2008.
