Macross 25th Anniversary Live: Minmay meets Fire Bomber (マクロス25周年記念ライブ~MINMAY meets FIRE BOMBER~ Makurosu 25 Shūnenkinen Raibu ~ MINMAY Mītsu Faiyā Bonbā), is a 25th anniversary concert event held on August 18, 2007 at Nippon Seinenkan Grand Hall in Sendagaya. The art on the promotional poster was drawn by Haruhiko Mikimoto.
The concert was followed by Macross Crossover Live A.D. 2009x45x49 on October 2009.
Overview[]
Prior to the 25th anniversary concert, the lobby of the venue contained a JOYSOUND Karaoke station for Macross songs and a merchandise pop-up store. The concert the began with Mari Iijima providing a brief introducing and then playing the piano while singing "0-G Love", "Cinderella", "Runner", "Do You Remember Love?".
Frontier Announcement[]
After Mari Iijima's opening, series creator Shōji Kawamori comes on stage to announce new details regarding the latest Macross series at the time, Macross Frontier, which was going to premier the following year, on April 3, 2008.
Shô Hayami, the voice actor of Maximilian Jenius, then has a "Macross Memory" retrospective talk with Kawamori. New footage and promotional visuals of Frontier is then screened, along with a brief story explanation for fans. They then introduce young Megumi Nakajima who has been cast as Ranka Lee. Megumi then makes her first stage debut singing "Voices".
After this segment ends, Yoshiki Fukuyama, Chie Kajiura and Nobutoshi Canna appear on-stage to perform twelve Fire Bomber songs.
