How many more Spider-People are there?
When reviewing the film and realizing that the concept of the metaverse and multidimensional worlds are meeting political, philosophical and in technological discussions, it is impossible not to mention that Into the Spider-Verse was the great precursor of a movement so promising for humanity and for the world of the cinema.
Therefore, it is worth noting the construction of the film's protagonist, who, surrounded by several other Spider-Man from other dimensions and universes, could lose its brilliance and importance, but the film's direction knew that the story belongs to Miles Morales, and nobody else. We can even say that his psychological construction goes through several stages of life and learning, as if Spider-Verse itself were an analogy for his maturity as a person and as a hero. His difficulty in adapting to a new school, with a new routine and new people. The puberty stage is always complicated for the overwhelming majority of people. The carnal desire for another girl, like the teenage crush and, finally, the discovery that the world (specifically Brooklyn) is far from colorful, joyful, contemplative and lively like Ditko's cartoons and Stan Lee's genius.
The protagonist's discovery that there is corruption within those least expected and that superheroes can indeed have their flaws, not being super athletic people, taking heavy blows and, like everyone, not being invincible, is part of who Miles goes transforming itself throughout its own history. By realizing, harshly, that every human being can indeed disappear or see their world collapse, the high school teenager ends up becoming the big star of one of the greatest animated films of all time.
Such animation manages, in an incredible universe that reveres and pays homage to the fantastic world of Comics, lead us to a story that makes us feel nostalgic for the time we read and discover new super heroes, new powers and evil villains on covers of animated magazines, as if believing in all that gave us hope to face the hard difficulties of childhood and move forward. Furthermore, the wonderful animation also opens new worlds and doors for new little fans to revere the eternal Friendly Neighborhood.
