Balances such a fine line between earnest and comedy, while never going too far in one direction or the other. Easily one of Gosling’s best performances.
Also was staring at Paul Schneider totally confused how it wasn’t Zachary Quinto

The FBI, Mob, and other Bounty Hunters: “where the hell is the Duke? We can’t find him!”
The Duke: at home with his wife
A few moments of crazy suspension of disbelief, especially with character motivations but too fun not to enjoy, and De Niro is great (surprise I know). Love the running gags and really love the two leads in this. Also clearly some major PTA influence!
Also WTF type of planes have two stories?!?

This was my Avenger’s End Game.
Glad Linklater was able to capture Jean-Luc’s pretentious bullshit so elegantly lol.
I kinda felt like Linklater ran out of steam tho because why isn’t there anything about the post production besides one 6 minute scene. Wish I got more post production and public screening of the film. Also wish he had incorporated more of the real people in the credits but that’s a small nitpick.

]]>Look at film notes for specific details as to why I want to rewatch
Had no context beforehand and probably wasn’t in the right mood, may be a bit advanced for me atm so a rewatch in the future will probably me very rewarding
A top 3 filmmaker of mine, this is one that I felt little to nothing for but has replayed in my mind as time as gone on, definitely need to rewatch
Another Kiarostami, usually his slow style is very melodic and hypnotic but tbh this one bored me to death, I suspect I wasn’t in the right headspace but I want ti rewatch this one regardless
Watched this when I was really sick, fell asleep a few times, just have it 4/5 and hoped no one noticed, so yeah def need to rewatch this
Didn’t connect but feels like a film I should love
Need to read into history before rewatching it because I was lacking on historical context
Loved this film and just wanna rewatch it, may be a favorite
Fell asleep 20mins in and never went back, should probably give it another try
I want to be hypnotized again
Really any haneke fits here but I just want to rewatch this
