Don’t make the mistake to expect a biopic. This is a Christopher Nolan movie. Which means non-linear, unnecessary and confusing storytelling, characters come and go almost every ten minutes without any character development or any explanation who the fuck they are, and dear God, this movie is long and sort of dry, and I really had to push myself through. Of course, the technical aspects are as excellent as they always are, the score is intense, but doesn’t fit and feels even misplaced at certain times.
Cillian Murphy is great, Matt Damon is good, but in my opinion the stand-out is definitely RDJ, he owns every scene he’s in and should be nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
Overall, Oppenheimer is not bad, but far away from Nolan‘s best achievements, and I’ll must admit I am quite exhausted and disappointed.
