    Come As You Are.
    With every new project, Guadagnino is climbing up in my all-time ranking list of my favorite filmmakers. Cos he just understands incredibly well how to take care of his story, his characters and his themes, like almost no other current director.
    Queer isn’t meant to provoke or pleasure, it’s meant to display feelings - desire, rejection and loneliness. It’s sensual, sexy and sensitive, in the most poetical, but yet muted and touching way imaginable.

    To be completely honest, as soon as I walked out of the theatre I had to take a deep breath, cos The Girl With The Needle is just as unsettling, triste and grim as it is transfixing and beautiful to watch at the very same time. The monochrome images look stunning. The score is chilling. The two leading performances are excellent. And the way this story unfolds, slowly and carefully, shook me to the core with its final act and its unimaginable cruelty.

    Some things are just not meant to be, and The War Of The Rohirrim is one of them. As a big anime and Tolkien fan, this film seems like it was made for me. But it just doesn’t work, not as an animated feature film, and even less as a tale from Middle-Earth.

    Mulan meets Kill Bill. 
    Almost completely out of nowhere comes this epic, stunningly animated visual spectacle that just blew me away with its beautiful storytelling, its well-shot, well-choreographed and its very graphic action. It’s rich in detail, emotion and imagination. It’s simply a brilliantly crafted piece of animated art that I highly recommend. To everyone.

    Elizabeth Olsen singing at the very end had me very close to tears, very close. I loved the writing, acting, the limited, intimate setting, the warmth. I loved the dynamics and interactions, feeling part of their little reunion, and I loved spending time with them whilst this emotional scenario.
