It's one thing to want to put your own spin on a classic story. It's another thing entirely to not understand what made the story great in the first place.

Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One 2021
The animation is balls compared to what it could/should be, the dialogue is incredibly lame, the changes they made are either flat-out weird or cynically done to add more action and the amount of puns/illusions to Harvey becoming Two Face made me want to kill myself. Lmaooooo. Comrade. Failures of capitalism. Stalin getting laser-eyed to death. “America First!” This was ridiculous.
On the one hand, I really appreciate these DC animation movies for bringing classic graphic novels to life in a different medium.

New cut, same problems. Sofia isn’t great and it needed Tom Hagen in the story. Fix those things and the coda likely would have been a bigger success. As is, it works fine.
