Two things:
I NOW HAVE A SERIALIZED ACCOUNT!!! www.serializd.com/user/BJCopelin/profile
2. I want to share my thoughts on some of my favorite YouTubers just because. Let me know if you're familiar with any of them, or who some of your favorites are that I haven't mentioned.
1. Adrenaline Dubs: I've mentioned these guys in a previous post, but these guys are super talented when it comes to editing, voice acting, and composing music! This is a team of passionate Sonic fans that dedicate most of their work to dubbing the IDW comics that I have endlessly praised so much in the past. The voices for these characters are all spot on, especially Sonic, Eggman, and Dr. Starline! If you aren't able to purchase these comics or aren't in a mood to read yet still interested in checking them out sometime, this channel is the perfect place for you to get started!
Game Apologist: This guy is another passionate Sonic fan, but he's usually a one man show on this channel. He does these very informative yet entertaining videos essays talking about how great certain games or characters are, he's got a series of videos called Sonic Speed Reading where he goes over the story of various Sonic comics (ODE, Archie, and Fleetway), and he's even done some stuff outside of Sonic. He can be very critical at times, but that's usually because he cares about the franchises that he's passionate about and wants to see them do their best. Check him out!
Cellspex: She's one of those YouTubers that got more passionate about animation as a medium. Her video essays are very informative and very wordy yet never boring. She's always got just the right amount of enthusiasm and maintains a really good balance between being critical and fair. She never hates on something just for the sake of it unless it's completely incompetent. She almost always brings up positives and negatives and tries her best to judge things fairly. She's also goes way beyond mainstream animation and would also talk about anime, animated films from other foreign countries outside of Japan, and just about any independent animated films that she feels is worth discussing. Her yearly ranking videos have got increasingly longer over the years, but that just makes me more excited for when they do come out!
ElectricDragon505 (Animat): Him and Cellspex are the two that got me more passionate about animation. Animat has come a long way when it comes to making videos. He doesn't just review the latest animated films alongside the occasional older one, he now has a podcast keeping up with news, and his multiple series' of Animation Lookback videos have only gotten better over the years! Seriously, check out his more recent Animation Lookback series on Walt Disney Animation Studios! It's some of his absolute best work!
HourofPoop: There's a handful of YouTube Poop channels that I like, but HourofPoop is probably my favorite! First of all, they're a British YT channel meaning that you'll see some old school British films, Wallace & Gromit stuff, and even Thomas the Tank Engine in their videos! Their style is like a mix between classic Monty Python and modern internet humor. My favorites of theirs include Thovis, which involves Thomas going on a rampage, and Buck Alone, a mashup between Home Alone and Uncle Buck with some Planes Trains, and Automobiles mixed in as well! Just seeing Kevin McCallister take on Uncle Buck is hilarious!
LittleKuriboh: I stumbled across this channel during my Yu-Gi-Oh phase while I was in my early teens. This guy does hysterical fan dubs of the original Yu-Gi-Oh anime called Yu-Gi-Oh: Abridged. They have become some of the most meme-worthy Yu-Gi-Oh content due to how endlessly quotable they are! And the craziest thing about it is that despite the long waits in between episodes, he is STILL working on them...ALMOST 20 YEARS LATER! THAT'S INSANE! Go support him if you're a fan of the original anime!
The Unusual Suspect: Hands down one of the best editors I've ever seen on YouTube! Ross does some incredible editing on stuff like Cinemasings, which are videos that mash up all sorts of different movies to match up the lyrics of a particular song, fan-made trailers that mimic the style of other trailers (for example, Harry Potter in the style of Scott Pilgrim), and even his own reviews which are similar to Nostalgia Critic but with his own signature style of humor and editing, and they're even funnier as a result! Sadly, he has since retired doing those types of reviews, but he now does compilations where he talks about multiple movies in one video, a lot of which are incredibly obscure. He's also done what is probably my favorite countdown video of all time, The Top Ten Best Video Game Movies! Keep in mind that it was made almost ten years ago so the new Sonic and Mario movies aren't there, but give it a watch anyway because it's just that good! Just go support his channel! You won't be disappointed!
The Unlucky Tug: Don't poke fun at me, but the last YouTuber I wanna talk about for today is Nick from The Unlucky Tug channel. He does all sorts of videos mostly talking about Thomas and why this show resonated with countless people throughout multiple generations. Thomas was an integral part of my childhood and was my favorite thing ever alongside Veggietales. There was a long period of time when I rarely thought about the show due to outgrowing it, but I have since rediscovered my love for it by hearing Nick talk about the show in a very sophisticated way. He talks about the brilliance of certain stories, the model work, the music, the narrations, the individual characters, the Railway Series books that the show was based on, and even the CGI era and all of the ups and downs it had during its run. He's got two series of videos that he's still doing: one is called Sodor's Finest where he goes in depth with an individual character, and the Thomas Retrospectives where he goes over each season, in which he has covered all 12 model seasons so far. He's also in the process of building his own electric train set. And he even has a few non-Thomas videos talking about Pixar and Star Wars. He primarily focuses on Thomas, but he is willing to talk about other things from time to time. If you grew up with Thomas, I recommend supporting his channel and hearing what he has to say.
