Early Life[]

Anime sena

Not much had been revealed of Sena's early life prior to her becoming a prosecutor answering straight to the Royal Prosecution Office of the Kingdom of Belzerg, though her career preventing her from getting a boyfriend had long been well-known amongst all those acquainted with her,[1] while the other reason being her obsession with "boys love" was not.[2]

Journey to Axel Arc[]

Assigned as the royal prosecutor stationed at Arcanletia, Sena became in charge of interrogating Zesta, after the pontiff of the Axis Order was arrested in suspicion of conspiring with the Devil King's Army during the incident when the city's hot springs all turned into Gelatinous Slime. However, she could not secure any proof of his guilt even with the lie-detecting bell, and instead was brought to tears by all his shamelessly perverted rebukes, which eventually prompted her into requesting a transfer to Axel.[3]

Late Winter Arc[]

After the large piece of coronatite used for powering the Destroyer was Teleported above Alderp's mansion and blew it up, Sena was called to investigate. She soon discovered that the coronatite was Teleported under the instructions of an adventurer named Kazuma Satou, regarding whom she could hear nothing but negative remarks around the city. Convinced that somebody with a scummy reputation like him must have been conspiring with the Devil King's Army to assassinate the local governor, Sena accordingly brought some knights to the Guild, where she ordered Kazuma arrested on charges of treason, and scared the adventurers vying for Kazuma's innocence into silence by threatening to arrest them as accomplices too.[1]

She proceeded to interrogate Kazuma at the police station with her lie-detecting bell, which forced him into admitting a number of his embarrassing secrets, before he had enough and declared that he had no intent to assassinate the governor. Sena was quickly cowed upon the bell proving him to be speaking the truth, and allowed him to admonish her for her reckless accusations of him based on wild rumours in town, though her attitude quickly turned stern once he touched on her sore spot of having no boyfriend. Despite beginning to believe in Kazuma's innocence, Sena quickly changed her mind when the bell confirmed his claim that he wasn't associated with one of the Devil King's Generals to be a lie, and thus ordered him to be arraigned.[1]

When Kazuma's trial began the following day, in which his party acted as his defence team while Alderp sat as the plaintiff, Sena read out his charges and the prosecution's allegations. In response to Kazuma explaining his innocence, Sena summoned Chris, Mitsurugi's party in addition to Dust for testimonies aimed at listing out the dishonourable antics Kazuma had committed in the past, while dismissing the witnesses before they could say anything disadvantageous to her case. As Aqua and Megumin started protesting Sena's flimsy basis for accusing him, she silenced them by listing their various misdeeds, before using the fact Kazuma had exercised Lich skills and the lie-detection during interrogation as her irrefutable proof of guilt. Her assertion however began losing ground when the lie-detecting bell proved Kazuma's declaration in court about him having no connections to the Devil King's Army, causing Sena herself to lean towards dismissing the case for lack of evidence. Yet once the displeased Alderp called on the powers of Maxwell, she abruptly changed her mind to pursue a death penalty for Kazuma. Under the ensuing unexpected revelation of Darkness being a member of the Dustiness noble household, Sena was given pause before a deal was made to postpone Kazuma's trial so his innocence could be proven.[1]

The following day, Sena marched into the party's mansion demanding Kazuma to take care of the Giant Toads outside the city that were scared out of hibernation, something she believed was the result of Megumin casting Explosions outside the city walls during the nights Kazuma got thrown into jail. The prosecutor soon became slack-jawed at Megumin Exploding a group of Giant Toads only to be limply eaten by a newly emerged one, with Kazuma all the while calmly letting Aqua be the bait chased by another of the amphibians[4] (which in the anime ended with both Aqua and Sena gobbled up by more Giant Toads)[5]. After Yunyun showed up to annihilate all the Giant Toads, Sena decided to call it a day despite not trusting Kazuma yet.[4]

Several days later, she began hearing reports of strange little monsters that grab onto people before exploding emerging from Keele's Dungeon, where the last ones to explore it was Kazuma's party. Thinking them to be connected with it, Sena charged back to the party's mansion demanding answers[6] (and in the anime she took Megumin out to do some investigations, before barging into the Dustiness family mansion looking for Kazuma)[7]. She eventually believed them having nothing to do with the monsters, and so headed for the Guild to hire adventurers who would go subjugate them in place of the reluctant Kazuma.[6]

When she arrived at Keele's Dungeon with the hired adventurers, Sena became pleasantly surprised when Kazuma's party also showed up at the entrance, citing the need for them to help eliminate a threat to the city. Speculating that somebody was summoning all the Vanir Dolls with a magic circle, she handed Kazuma an evil-sealing sticker capable of disabling it, before seeing him and Darkness off as they took the lead of the adventurers venturing inside. A while later, Sena was shocked to see Darkness emerging with her face covered by a mask identical to the one worn by the Devil King's General Vanir, who Kazuma said had come to investigate Beldia's disappearance and was now possessing Darkness' body. Faced with Vanir defeating all the adventurers she had brought along through utilising the body of Darkness that he was trapped within by the evil-sealing sticker, the terrified Sena soon became impressed when Kazuma stopped the Archdemon's rampage by burning the sticker away, in addition to Darkness instructing Megumin to blow her and Vanir up with Explosion.[6]

Now convinced of Kazuma's innocence, since somebody conspiring with the Devil King's Army would not risk their lives to vanquish one of the Devil King's Generals, Sena a few days later at the Guild declared all charges on Kazuma lifted, then awarded Darkness for her valour and gifted her with a new set of armour, before topping it off by rewarding the party for destroying the Destroyer and Vanir with enough money to propel them from debt to riches.[8]

At some point during the period, Sena became the president of the Association to Protect Women's Chances of Marriage, a secret society formed by single women desperate for love and marriage, while also befriending Luna who too was a member. As Sena proceeded to investigate the possible cause for men in Axel not interested in marriage, she followed a lead provided by Luna about the Succubus Cafe, and thus organised a raiding party composed of policewomen who were also members of the Association in addition to Luna for a surprise operation against the suspected illegal establishment, despite the obstruction from some male superiors who were former adventurers.[2]

On the day of the raid, the party found Dust and a man covering his face with a helmet using the services of the cafe, which claimed to offer consultation for adventurers through fortune telling. After a search of the premises failed to turn out any evidence of illegal activity, Sena and the other women were taunted by Dust for their attitude scaring suitors away, before scaring him into soothing them moments later. Sena next became excited when Dust explained that most of the other male adventurers in Axel weren't interested in women because they were gay, though she still brought out the lie-detecting bell to interrogate him and the helmet guy about the matter. Eventually believing the delinquent when the helmet guy admitted his love for a man without triggering the bell and lovingly hugged Dust at her request, the royal prosecutor was castigated by Dust for disrupting a rightful business, before agreeing to volunteer at the cafe.[2]

Dressed in the embarrassingly revealing outfit of the Succubi the next day, Sena alongside Darkness started serving Dust and the regular customers as a waitress consultant, only to be asked snide questions by the delinquent. She responded by bringing up the subject of a criminal organisation moving into Axel, to which Dust listed out other crimes such as him beating up a debt collector and Darkness nearly getting kidnapped. The manner which other customers leered at the Succubi employees, though, soon alerted Sena to the fact that the male adventurers in the city weren't gay after all. The royal prosecutor proceeded to force Dust and the Succubi into admitting the truth about the cafe, but after listening to the Receptionist Succubus explain how their services helped reduce the city's crime rate, agreed not do anything in exchange for the Succubi using their powers to influence men whom she likes into falling in love with her, in addition to letting her dream about the scenes of her secret unspeakable desires. Yet despite coming to a compromise with the cafe, Sena still had Dust arrested for beating up a debt collector.[2]

Early Spring Arc[]

As the Lizard Runners started their mating race outside the city when spring approached, Sena rushed to Kazuma's mansion, where she was surprised to see Kazuma shutting himself inside the warm kotatsu. Subsequent to elaborating about the threat these reptiles in heat can cause to people, she desperately tried to persuade him into taking the quest against them, and surprisingly succeeded following his party members boasting of how they had levelled up.[9]

Sena went to the Guild for a discussion with Luna not long after Dust's release, when she heard him come frantically asking for the whereabouts of his party, who had gone off questing with a temporary member instead of him. She and Luna as well as the Loli Succubus were next told that the temporary member was actually an accomplice belonging to the criminal organisation of lolicon human traffickers, which Sena had earlier discussed at the Succubus Cafe, on top of them planning to mug the party before kidnapping Rin for some noble. Although Sena deduced the criminals' plot was to wait till the accomplice stood guard while the other three slept before striking, she was unable to provide assistance because the police would not act simply out of Dust's claims.[10]

Magical Stones Arc[]

After the knights sent to investigate the moving dungeon, later described by Kazuma as a Shangri-La, all returned with their mentality reverted to naughty children, Sena headed to the Guild for recruiting adventurers to do the investigation. Yet despite offering a generous reward, nobody was willing to take the quest, until Kazuma's party suddenly changed their minds and accepted, citing a need to protect the kingdom's people. Subsequent to them defeating the Doll Master behind it all, Sena as promised rewarded them generously.[11]

Following the defeat of the Imitation Dragon rampaging outside Axel's walls, an investigation soon revealed that the monster was attracted to the earth because after its release from the Devil-Sealing Magical Stones on the Island in the Sky, Aqua had smuggled a shard of the magical stones with her as she made her escape. Sena though decided not to pursue the matter, instead cancelling out the party's responsibility for the damage caused to the city with their exploit of vanquishing the Imitation Dragon.[12]

Black Slab Arc[]

Sena one morning received a report from a nobleman who accused Kazuma's party of stealing a gem from him and taking it to Wiz's Shop for assessment, a crime which he was willing to pardon them for if they would generate a set of clothes that could make the wearer feel envious. Sena accordingly marched into the party's mansion declaring them all banished from Axel, before elaborating on the deal offered by the nobleman that they will have to fulfill upon acceptance or else face the death penalty if unsuccessful. Many weeks later, the party using the Black Slab generated the School Invidia which had the said effect, so Sena subsequent to inspecting the clothes handed it to the nobleman. Yet during the night, a report came in about the School Invidia being stolen by somebody, whom the nobleman insisted was Kazuma's party. Sena was therefore again tasked with informing the party of the new accusations upon them, as well as the offer of pardon thru generating another set of clothes that could make the wearer feel prideful.[13]

Given the Idol Superbia that the party spent many weeks of hard work to generate, Sena according to standard protocol proceeded to inspect it for any curses the nobleman's many enemies might have placed upon it, before handing the set of clothes over once satisfied. Yet a few hours later, she heard that somebody had attracted monsters through magic to attack the outside mercenaries hired by the nobleman for guarding his mansion while they were traveling to Axel, and during the confusion the Idol Superbia was stolen along with a bottle of extra rare bubbly. After the nobleman accused Kazuma's party once more while requesting a set of clothes capable of making the wearer lustful, Sena who began to think the party innocent went to tell them about the news, at which Kazuma expressed his determination to catch the thief.[14]

Several days since Sena handed the Sexy Luxuria that Kazuma's party had generated to the nobleman, she was told to pass on a request for a set of clothes capable of making the wearer wrathful, despite nobody breaking into the nobleman's mansion to steal the generated clothes this time. Bringing to Kazuma's mansion the request along with a suggestion from Vanir to generate another set of clothes, Sena agreed with Darkness over how the nobleman was simply looking for excuses to exploit the party, unless they managed to catch thief and prove their innocence.[15]

Subsequent to the ingredients for the Berserk Ira being gathered, per Kazuma's instructions Sena ordered the security around the nobleman's mansion boosted so tight that any new break-ins would be impossible.[16] And on a night right before the deadline, she and the party laid in ambush at their mansion, where just as Kazuma expected the thief wearing black robes broke into for stealing the rare and expensive clothing ingredients. After putting the man under arrest, the royal prosecutor advised the party to generate the Berserk Ira for the nobleman anyways, only to be shocked when the Black Slab churned out the Armour of Wrath, which the clothing recipe given to them by the man turned out to actually generate.[17]

Sena was next left behind to guard the man in black robes while the party brought the Armour of Wrath outside the city, only for him to give her the slip in addition to stealing away the Black Slab. She proceeded to head towards the site where the party Exploded the Armour of Wrath into submission, and along with them witnessed the man in black robes using the armour as well as the other three sets of clothes he had stolen from the nobleman as ingredients for generating clothing that could grant him enough power to kill the nobleman in order to avenge his fiancé. Subsequent to Kazuma thwarting the man's intentions and the generated clothes getting ripped up, Sena was told that the curse of the Black Slab had made the man in black robes want to protect the nobleman instead of kill him. Putting the man under arrest again, several days later the royal prosecutor, based on his testimony, cleared the party of all charges.[17]

After everything was settled with her having tested out enough numbers of various clothes, Sena as she was walking the streets all stressed out from her uptight job heard Megumin squabbling with Kazuma over him peeking under her skirt, a criminal act that she let Kazuma off with only a warning all because of Megumin vouching against arresting him. While reporting to Luna on the next day about the aftermath of an incident, she also admitted her fatigue brought on by endless investigations and the troubles caused by Kazuma's party. Several days later, the royal prosecutor was offered by the party a set of cute clothes to put on, which she promptly refused out of concern it might be seen as bribery, and nearly arrested Megumin when she came talking like a businessman trying to bribe corrupt officials. But over the next few days, Sena found herself pestered by the party as they tried all kinds of tricks to make her put on those clothes, such as Megumin spilling water over her, Aqua listing all the scummy things Kazuma did to incite pity, and the whole party improvising the Axis Order's conversion tactics, though none of them convinced her into yielding. Yet after a public charade, where Kazuma pretending to be possessed by a demon taking Megumin hostage claimed that he will be freed once Sena wears the clothes, rumours about her putting cute clothing on spread among the city's men. Forced to concede a week later in exchange for the party clearing up the rumours, Sena put on the cute animal costume, which did make her feel relaxed, though she next ordered the party to have it burnt. Sena a few days later invited Kazuma to the lakeside for a break when he came to apologise, and while wading in the shallows confessed to being a woman who needed to relax.[18]

Cursed Relic Arc[]

After an ancient relic belonging to the Lundberg noble household along with the estate under which it was discovered got badly damaged by Megumin's Explosion, Sena had Kazuma charged for treason again. Despite finding him guilty and eligible for the death penalty, she also petitioned for clemency due to his previous victories over the Devil King's Generals, something Lundberg also agreed with, on the condition that Kazuma help repair the relic.[19]

Sena later received a visit from Kazuma, who had concerns with what Lundberg was up to, right before he headed out to seek the relic's final replacement part. After reiterating some background about the well-respected nobleman, Sena offered to accompany him when he brings the final replacement part to Lundberg.[20]

She proceeded to join Kazuma and his companions as they brought Lundberg the Eternal Ice Crystal which was promptly handed to Rav, and also stayed for the celebratory dinner hosted by Lundberg, before joining the others when the nobleman invited them to look at the relic once Rav completed the repairs.[21] Yet to the royal prosecutor's shock, Lundberg soon proudly boasted of how he would overthrow the Belzerg royalty using the ultimate magical creature sealed within the relic. Next rendered speechless when Rav's betrayal and Wallavy's departure left Lundberg fuming in embarrassed rage, Sena still pointed out the need to apprehend the disgraced nobleman for treason. Following the party defeating the Manatite Golem sent to silence them all, Lundberg who got knocked out by Darkness was ordered to be incarcerated by Sena.[22]

Proceeding to head the investigations into the treasonous Lundberg now revoked of his noble status, Sena on the following day started off by recording testimonies on the matter from Darkness and Kazuma. She also put the Lundberg mansion under lockdown during the investigators' search for evidence, and thus refused the request from Aqua to let her go inside and look for her confiscated hagoromo.[23] Some days later the investigations at Lundberg's mansion were deemed complete by Sena, so she went to the party's mansion offering them entry under her supervision, though the royal prosecutor still had to yell at Aqua when she began ransacking the place.[24]

Several days subsequent to Kazuma leading the adventurers into triumphing over the giant Wallavy when it attacked Axel, Sena who had petitioned the kingdom for rewarding Kazuma's party received reports from the Guild about little monsters looking like Wallavy appearing at multiple locations. Frantically informing the party over the turn of events, she agreed as they headed out to advise other adventurers on using ice magic against those Slimes. As more and more sightings of the Small Wallavies spurred the Guild into mobilising all adventurers against them, the report about them all emerging from the Bottomless Labyrinth prompted Sena to ask Kazuma's party upon their return into looking for Rav there.[25]

Soon after the Small Wallavies began disappearing from sight, Sena heard from Kazuma's party of how they did find Rav in the Bottomless Labyrinth only for him to slip away, while the main Wallavy which recalled its clones grew even larger. Successfully pleading Kazuma into fighting the gigantic Wallavy, she and Luna spent the next few days looking for Rav and Wallavy without success. Sena was next surprised by Kazuma suggesting them ask Lundberg for clues, but still brought the former nobleman, who she stated as being ineligible for pardon, to the Guild for questioning.[26]

When Wallavy now grown to super gigantic proportions marched towards Axel again, during the ensuing evacuation of townsfolk, Sena passed on to Luna the awful news about knights unable to arrive in time to help as well as Alderp deserting the provinces, though she still believed in Kazuma's party. Her hopes were answered when Kazuma and his party, having captured Rav in the Secret Research Facility, came flying back in one of the magic relics collected by the mad scientist, at which she updated them on the situation before apprehending Rav.[27]

While standing guard over Rav, Sena heard him rave about Wallavy's core already suffering damage from the initial Explosion that Megumin had cast on the relic, and so ran to tell Kazuma about it just as Wallavy completed its final mutation.[28] Then several days following Wallavy's destruction, she presented Kazuma with the reward for defeating it, before escorting Lundberg and Rav to the Royal Capital where they would stand trial.[29]
