Early Life[]

Not much had been revealed of Keith's early life prior to him becoming an adventurer who fought as an Archer, and he was already adventuring alongside Taylor and Rin by the time Dust saved them from being overwhelmed by monsters outside Axel.[1]

Irregular of Axel Arc[]

Keith was one of the adventurers Megumin took notice of upon her arrival at Axel when his whole party celebrated a profitable quest.[2]

Beginner Adventurer Arc[]

When an emergency broadcast by the Guild called for adventurers to gather outside the city, Keith along with Rin and Taylor hurried towards the city gate, and didn't dawdle on his surprise at Dust who was dragging along a huge cart of Tomatoes. He soon witnessed the fierce battle against Beldia, and explained the situation to Dust when he finally arrived with the cart, before the flood summoned by Aqua put an end to it. Keith afterwards received the rewards from the Guild for participating in the battle against the Devil King's General, while making comments about Dust who had missed the deadline for participating in the profitable emergency quest.[3]

Deep Winter Arc[]

Keith was talking at the Guild with Rin and Taylor about the exploits of the nearby Darkness, Megumin, and Aqua during the prior battle with Beldia, when Dust audibly taunted Satou Kazuma for having a harem of fine ladies despite being the weakest Class. This set off an argument between the two, which cumulated in Dust and Kazuma switching parties for a day. As Keith and his party set out on a quest against Goblins that settled surprisingly close to a nearby road, Kazuma who initially was assigned to bear their luggage surprised them by Enemy Detecting a Beginner's Bane heading their way before hiding everybody with Lurk until it walked passed. Carrying some of his own luggage because of Rin's newfound respect for Kazuma, Keith and the others hurried towards the Goblins unexpectedly numbering a full score. Yet despite a tough fight at the start, the quest soon became a piece of cake thanks to Kazuma's skillful application of various basic magic, prompting him along with Rin and Taylor to praise the Adventurer on the way home. Their return however was blocked by the Beginner's Bane which had turned back and started chasing them, though just as Keith was about to stay behind and cover for Kazuma's escape, the Adventurer in question blinded the monster with basic magic to allow the whole party to flee. Returning to the Guild late at night, where they were greeted by an apologetic Dust who had a disastrous day with the three pretty but incompetent troublemakers, Keith ended up complying with his plea of them returning to their previous parties.[4] Some time later, he taught Kazuma a few of his Archer skills as gratitude.[5]

Having heard of the rumour about the Succubus Cafe, Keith and Dust went to check it out, as well as let Kazuma who noticed them sneaking around the entrance into the secret shared by the city's men.[6]

During the attack of the Mobile Fortress Destroyer, Keith accompanied his party to the emergency meeting at the Guild, and joined the other male adventurers storming the immobilised fortress in an attempt to save the Succubus Cafe. He was one of the first to discover the remains of the Head Researcher, and subsequent to Aqua's reciting of the dead idiot's diary, evacuated the fortress with the other adventurers while Kazuma sought ways to prevent its self-detonation.[7]

Late Winter Arc[]

Keith was one of the adventurers who witnessed Kazuma's arrest for treason by Sena, and banded together with other adventurers to protest, only to back down when Sena threatened to charge them with treason as well, before listening in on Kazuma's trial a couple of days later.[8]

He afterwards lauded Kazuma again for his adaptability with magic, before refusing to take a quest during the hard winter against powerful monsters for the sake of the penniless Dust, though he nearly let slip to Rin about the existence of the Succubus Cafe.[9] Some time later, Keith ganged up with Rin and Taylor to ignore Dust's pleas to borrow money as a means to teach the spendthrift delinquent a lesson, though he added a bit of humiliation and taunts into it.[10]

Early Spring Arc[]

Having teamed up with a temporary party member introduced by the Guild to replace Dust during his fortnight of incarceration, Keith ignored the grumblings of his delinquent companion following his release, and subsequently headed out with his reformed party on a quest against Goblins near Keele's Dungeon. Arriving in the area at sundown and setting up camp, Keith as well as Rin and Taylor let the temporary member go to sleep first so he could keep watch while they slept later on. The trio was thus surprised when Dust showed up warning them that the temporary member was actually an accomplice of a criminal organisation aiming to kidnap Rin, an account which they believed upon the Loli Succubus and a noble covering his face with a helmet who traveled alongside Dust confirming it. After the sleeping accomplice was given a traumatising nightmare by the Loli Succubus, Keith expressed his gratitude towards Dust, though he still let him stand watch while everybody else slept some hours later.[11]

Making it back to Axel the next day, Keith agreed with the decision to reward Dust with all of the reparation money paid by the Guild for recommending a criminal into their party, though its ensuing seizure by Vanir forced the four of them to head out for quests.[12]

At some point during the period, Keith along with Dust participated in a raffle for a special service from the Succubus Cafe, which they also notified Kazuma about upon running into him.[13]

Cursed Ring Arc[]

Having heard from a gossiping Aqua how Kazuma was Stealing panties because of a cursed ring stuck onto his finger, Keith along with Dust offered to listen to his troubles, before becoming patrons of the maid café Kazuma opened, where he and Dust were mellowed out by girls like Aqua serving them as maids.[14] Later treated to the Succubus Cafe by Dust, he offered to have a gloomy Kazuma join them too, before listening along with Dust to Kazuma's woes on being drained to death by the ring's power and warning him about the girls one day killing him for Stealing their panties. Keith next suggested him to earn the ring removal fee at the Guild's sports festival, which they also participated in for the prize and the women's swimsuits.[15] Then during Kazuma's setup of an idol unit, Keith as well as Dust helped to train the girls on handshaking with fans.[16] Unable afterwards to make any more good suggestions for Kazuma to make money through, several days later Keith joined the emergency Guild meeting for defending the city against the approaching Skull Dragon, then following Kazuma's plan fought in the resistance alongside other adventurers.[17]

Magical Stones Arc[]

Keith with his party mainly hung around the Guild during that period,[18] and subsequent to the vanquishing of the Imitation Dragon also participated in the celebrations.[19]

Black Slab Arc[]

Having heard of Kazuma and his party being forced to make clothes for a nobleman or else face execution, Keith along with Dust told him of how that greedy nobleman had taken a black slab and executed its owner some years back. Later in exchange for tickets to the Succubus Cafe, he helped Kazuma assemble an audience for listening to Megumin making a speech for her Lolita Alliance.[20]

After hearing a rumour at the Succubus Cafe about a man in black robes frequently appearing there to check on dreams regarding clothes that he had requested on a nobleman's behalf, Keith one day witnessed the man at the establishment himself. Running into Kazuma the next day, he as well as Dust started talking about dreams from the Succubus Cafe that involved changing clothes, at which Keith recounted the rumour as well as corrected Kazuma's mistaken belief of the man being dead, before agreeing to look out for that man on behalf of Kazuma who treated them to bubbly.[21]

Cursed Relic Arc[]

Due to landing themselves into debt from gambling, Keith as well as Taylor during that period were forced to work faraway, leaving Dust and Rin behind to join Kazuma's adventuring.[22]

Early Summer Arc[]

When Kazuma one day offered to pay adventurers at the Guild who would help Darkness defeat the Kowloon Hydra dwelling in a nearby lake, Keith also signed up to join the high-risk but high-return endeavour. Under Kazuma's instructions, after Aqua lured the monster close to the shore and the Thieves Binded all its eight heads together with wire, he and other Archers shot hooked arrows with trailing ropes to latch onto those wires, before helping the other adventurers heave the Hydra ashore and stop it from fleeing back into the lake. Following the vanquishing of the monster that during the battle swallowed Dust, the sight of his partially dissolved body made Keith give up hope, until Aqua managed to Resurrect his fellow delinquent. Back at the Guild, Keith alongside Rin once again lauded Kazuma for his remarkable leadership while ridiculing Dust for his incredible idiocy.[23]

Having received a considerable amount of rewards from participating in the Hydra's vanquishing, Keith decided to take it easy and not take quests for a while, before expressing nonchalance at Dust's panicked claim about Rin getting a boyfriend.[24]

On the day of Darkness' marriage to Alderp, like other adventurers in the city, Keith also gathered at the church of Eris where the wedding ceremony was held in hopes of glimpsing the rare sight of the Crusader dressed as a bride, though the governor's guards kept them from drawing too close. Soon witnessing those guards sent flying by Megumin's Explosion and Kazuma's ensuing escape from the church with Darkness, Keith who had ignored Alderp's command to capture Kazuma's fleeing party next saw the Yunyun left behind as the rearguard about to be swamped by the recovering guards, so he proceeded to bump into one of the guards before dropping onto the ground yelling about the noble's henchmen breaking his arm, which he accordingly used for beating up those guards once Dust incited the other adventurers into teaching the noble's lackeys a lesson, and in effect let Kazuma's party make a clean getaway.[25]

Accompanying his party on a quest for exploring some ancient ruins one day, upon Dust accidentally discovering a hidden passageway leading from the derelict abode of the dungeon's master, Keith with Taylor in tow investigated the doorway within leading right while the others searched the left one. After finding nothing of interest inside the room beyond, the two of them suddenly felt sluggish on top of losing motivation to continue exploring, and even the lewd books presented by Dust after they rendezvoused with him and Rin didn't feel appealing to Keith. Trudging with the others back to Axel, he on the following day lethargically declared unwillingness to do anything for the next several days but rest.[26]

Keith some days afterwards heard Dust declare in the Guild his plan for treating them to a rehabilitation trip at Arcanletia, something he didn't pay heed to until hearing that it was funded by the tickets gifted from Kazuma. On the day of the trip, Keith was introduced to Yunyun at the carriage terminal where their companions assembled, and expressed frenzied objection at Dust trying to ride in a carriage with the three girls accompanying them. After a lot draw, however, he and the other two men in his party ended up stuck in one carriage while the girls rode with Vanir on the other.[27]

Following an uneventful day of traveling, the caravan made camp along the highway leading to Arcanletia, and without anything else to do, Keith went to sleep early. Yet during the night, he had an especially awful nightmare about himself and Taylor lustfully trying to rape Dust, prompting Keith to spend the rest of the trip on the ensuing day resting. His situation still didn't improve upon arrival at Arcanletia, where on the way to the inn he had soap, hot spring water, and conversion forms forced onto him by followers of the Axis Order who made up most of the city's population. Later passing by the three girls who had retreated from the inn's hot springs all embarrassed, Keith with Taylor in tow found Dust in the mixed baths, then expressed surprise at the delinquent declaring that he had enough with women and preferred having men as friends.[27]

Like his other companions sans Dust who woke up late, on the following day Keith was approached on the streets by all sorts of conversion attempts by Axis followers, and returned to the inn all traumatised and stuffed full of conversion forms. He thus declined Chris' idea of hitting back at the city of lunatics despite wanting to exact some payback, yet once hearing the Thief bring up the subject of the lewd books that Dust had secretly circulated in Axel possibly becoming the subject of investigation by the Eris Order, Keith afraid of being seen as an accomplice tried returning his share of the contraband's sales in order to escape responsibility, and had no choice but to comply upon Dust agreeing to help Chris.[28]

When the delinquent worked on his plan of letting the Thief dress up as Eris and perform great deeds for elevating the status of Eris followers, Keith reminded him how suicidal walking around like that in the headquarters the hostile Axis Order was, which pushed Dust into scrapping the idea. Suddenly hearing the Axis followers outside clamouring about a Demon at the fountain plaza, the Archer followed them and Chris who was still in her costume to the location, where he found Vanir alongside the Loli Succubus on a stage. Subsequent to the masked man disparaging the patron goddess of the Axis Order by listing Aqua's indolent and rascal antics, which the lunatics instead appreciated as part of their teachings, Keith found Dust's lifestyle very similar to the Axis followers. Next hearing Vanir declare selling the Axis followers photobooks of Aqua at half price, he at Dust's sudden coercion was compelled into helping sell the product, though they turned out to be photobooks of Vanir instead. Soon pursued alongside his travelling companions by the extremely furious Axis followers, Keith successfully escaped back to the inn thanks to Dust splitting off and leading the mob to him.[28]

The exhausted group afterwards took the carriage back to Axel, determined not to set foot in Arcanletia ever again, though Keith still kept his share of the photobooks' sales. Once they arrived at the gates of Axel, however, he became surprised by the guards as well as the townsfolk acting sluggish from lack of motivation to work. Heading for the Guild with his party, Keith found the employees limply lazing around, a phenomenon which according to Rin and Dust was identical to what he and Taylor had suffered while exploring the ancient ruins. After hearing from the sluggish Luna how people all over the city began turning more and more lethargic ever since their party's trip to Arcanletia, Keith began discussing possible causes of the phenomenon that may make them too lose motivation over time.[29]

Accordingly visiting Kazuma's mansion for information, the four of them only discovered Yunyun loitering around its entrance because the residents were all out, so at the Crimson Demon's suggestion they went asking Vanir for advice. In Wiz's Shop where they found Wiz crispily zapped for falling to a con scheme, the gang was advised by Vanir to head back into the ruins for finding what was draining motivation from people before Axel's residents starve to death. Without anyone else in the city capable of helping, Keith joined his party as well as Yunyun and the Loli Succubus on the journey there. Yet following their carriage ride to the ruins, he lost all motivation to go on and thus stayed at the entrance, until jolted awake by a powerful tremor.[29]

Faced with the Prototype Destroyer bursting out from the ruins, Keith was inspired by Dust valiantly motivating them to destroy to scaled-down version of the Mobile Fortress Destroyer before it destroys Axel, then proceeded to shoot arrows trailing rope for entangling the construct so that three men following the Loli Succubus' orders could drag it still and allow for the killing blows.[29] Returning to the remotivated Axel subsequent to the Prototype Destroyer's explosive destruction, Keith was given a generous share of rewards by the Guild, where his party and Kazuma's partied along with other adventurers.[30]

Mid Summer Arc[]

Told at the Guild by Dust about Vanir requesting the collection of fruits from Tranquility Girls to serve as ingredients for dietary snacks, Keith accepted the job despite not willing to kill the humanoid plant, though the party's ensuing conversation about an instance of somebody cruel enough to cut down one of those alluring monsters somehow earned the ire of the nearby Kazuma. Following Luna's lead about a Tranquility Girl sighted in the forests near the picturesque riverhead lake, the party found dozens of adventurers wandering around the area.[31]

Eventually discovering the Tranquility Girl inside the forest, Keith who was offered one of its addictive fruits filled with narcotics noticed the plant's dialogue sounding very much like swindler women. He then rebuked the Dust's request for him to immediately eat the fruit, before feeling sorry for the delinquent after he unexpectedly confessed about having scavenged rubbish cans for leftover food. After return to Axel, the Archer waited around at the Guild while Dust went to hand Vanir the fruits, though he later refused another run there for the purpose of more fruits in addition to eliminating the Tranquility Girl.[31]

When the time came for eliminating the masses of summer monsters so that people could hold the upcoming Eris Appreciation Festival in peace, Keith on the first day of the operation accompanied his party members to the Guild for taking the quests, especially those in the forest which were imperative for stopping Cicadas from keeping people awake all night, though Kazuma being cluelessly unenthusiastic despite the insects' detrimental effects on the Succubi's services puzzled him. Managing to pull through even with Megumin surprisingly casting an Explosion in their midst and attracting even more monsters, he on the ensuing days continued with the insect extermination quests.[32]

Late Summer Arc[]

With Rin having accepted a job from Vanir for delivering some junk inventory to a reseller based at the royal capital, Keith alongside his party marveled at the prosperity of Belzerg's core, then became surprised at Dust being more concerned with completing the delivery instead of staying around for sightseeing. Subsequent to witnessing a royal knight and wizard leading a search for somebody and the party expressing more sympathy towards the abnormally serious delinquent, Keith decided to walk around alone once the delivery was completed because Dust wanted to go rest at their inn.[33]

Heading to drink at the Guild with Taylor one night, the Archer noticed Dust who was said to have already left after drinking drunkenly staggering in while wearing a mask similar to that of Vanir. Although perplexed to find the delinquent bewilderedly responding to them inviting him over for drinks with courteous feminine tones, all the questions were thrown to the wind upon Dust proclaiming that he would treat everybody at the Guild to meals and drinks. Keith accordingly reiterated what had happened when the delinquent suddenly appeared confused about the situation before taking off the mask, then stopped Dust from causing a ruckus once he tried to bar the other adventurers from ordering at his expense.[34]

Asked by Dust a couple of days later to help distract the security detail of the royal castle, Keith without prying into the details agreed to aid him. That night once Claire and Rain led a band of soldiers out of the royal castle in response to Megumin's Explosion outside the city, he started a gig with Taylor in which they loudly talked about the popular dietary snack being on a sale in limited numbers, and successfully helped sow confusion among the soldiers' ranks.[35]

At some point during the period, Keith in the Guild heard Dust uncharacteristically declare his intent to earn money through working hard, and so pointed it out to be a ploy for increasing popularity, but then turned puzzled over Rin becoming skeptical with the quest that the delinquent had accepted which entailed capturing a Giant Toad alive, before the quest was later cancelled, followed by his party being paid the cancellation fee.[36]
