Uncle Leone is a minor character in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.
He is voiced by Bruce MacVittie.
History[]
Background[]
He is the elderly and hunched Sicilian Mafia head who is only featured once after the final mission of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.
Events of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories[]
It is revealed that he was backing Massimo Torini's bid to take over Liberty City, but admits defeat at the end of the game and decides to return to Sicily in peace.
Salvatore insults him behind his back, stating that he can't be trusted, to which Uncle Leone quietly replies "Every dog has his day", a phrase cited by Tony Montana in both the Scarface film and Scarface: The World is Yours video game. This warning indeed comes to pass in Grand Theft Auto III, as Salvatore is killed by Claude, the protagonist that Salvatore betrays three years later.
Character[]
Influence[]
Uncle Leone is based on Don Altobello from The Godfather: Part III. Both characters share a big resemblance and tried set up a war in order to take over New York/Liberty City´s underworld. Another possible influence for the character could be Junior Soprano from the crime television show, The Sopranos.
