Jesus Sentenz, known as Max, is a character who is mentioned in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.

History[]

Background[]

Sentenz is the leader of the Avenging Angels vigilante group in Liberty City.

The group was formed by Sentenz to fight crime in the city and are not associated with the police. Sentenz e-mails the Liberty Tree newspaper to defend the Avenging Angels, saying that they have a positive influence on the city.^[2] He admits that some mistakes have been made, citing the death of an elderly lady who they believed was a drug dealer. By 2001, the group had been disbanded in Liberty City. Sentenz also claims to have a black belt in kung fu.

Trivia[]

Sentenz's surname sounds similar to the word "sentence", likely an allusion to the fact that he issues his own "sentences" (punishments) to criminals and suspected criminals.
