For the cut character in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, see Psycho.
The Psycho is a minor character in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
He is voiced by Will Morton.
History[]
Background[]
For unknown reasons, the Psycho has a vendetta against the members of the rock band Love Fist, claiming that they "ruined his life".
Events of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City[]
In 1986, he attempts to assassinate the band members at a signing, so the band sends Tommy Vercetti there in an attempt to draw him out. The Psycho appears disguised as a woman to blend in with the Love Fist groupies at the event. As soon as Tommy parks the band's limousine at the signing, the Psycho pulls out a pistol and kills a security guard, before attempting to escape, when he is chased down and seemingly killed by Tommy.
However, the Psycho survives the attack and later leaves a recorded message in the band's limousine, claiming that he has planted a bomb which will explode if the vehicle travels too slowly. This results in Tommy driving very fast throughout the city until the band members defuse the bomb. Following this mission, the Psycho is never seen or mentioned again, and his later fate is unknown.

Trivia[]
- The Psycho was originally voiced by American actor Hunter Platin, a recurring voice actor in Rockstar Games titles. He is credited in-game for the role.
- Rockstar North's audio designer Will Morton was asked to re-recorded Hunter Platin's original voice lines for the character, although he was only credited in the official manual. The voice actor change happened due to the writers deciding that a Scottish accent would fit better for the character.[2]
- The Psycho character was originally intended to appear without the groupie disguise at the end of Publicity Tour, according to an uncompiled mission script file (rock4.sc) accidentally left in the files of The Definitive Edition. However, the character model mentioned in the script is a placeholder cab driver pedestrian.
