Leo Teal:

Tommy Vercetti:
You better start talking...
Leo Teal:
Hey, make me, you prick!

Leo Teal is a minor character in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

History[]

Background[]

At some point prior to late 1986, Teal began to work as a chef in Ocean Beach, Vice City while also moonlighting as a hitman for Mr. Black.

The Vice City Bureau of Investigation correctly suspect he has links to Black and works as a hitman, also believing him to be involved in the narcotics trade, but have been unable to tap his telephone due to Teal being a communications expert. Teal's police file describes his personal life as "very complicated" and he is involved in "dubious practices" with Moweesha and a manatee, as well as interior designer and restaurant owner Eugene.

Events of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City[]

Teal is killed by protagonist Tommy Vercetti in an alley in Ocean Beach. Vercetti is looking for a lead in the ambushed drug deal between the Forelli Crime Family, which he represented, and the Vance Crime Family. He is tipped off about Teal by Kent Paul, who describes him as a dealer and "chef-cum-trumpetshifter" who'd been looking pleased with himself lately. When Vercetti confronts Teal, Teal is immediately aggressive, and the fight leads to his death.

Vercetti later poses as Teal and works as a hitman for Mr. Black, killing a number of people. The leader of the Streetwannabe's gang also calls Vercetti on Teal's cell phone to say there was a buyer for Ricardo Diaz' drugs, suggesting that Teal may have been involved in the ambushed drug deal.

Tommy's association with the Cubans also started when he received a call from them on Leo's phone and informed them that he killed Leo and stole the phone. This impressed the person he spoke to enough that he was asked to visit Robina Cafe in Little Havana and speak to Umberto Robina.

Leftovers in the game files for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories and information in the Design Document confirms the Vice Point Food Trailer was originally owned by Leo Teal, intended to return as a mission contact for Victor Vance. The ENGLISH.GXT files still contain the labels for five missions given by Leo, all of which return the text "REMOVED". In the final version, the food trailer plays no role in the storyline whatsoever.[1][2]
