Peace and love and religious conversion, listen to Heavenly and change yours for certain!
— Heavenly Radio

Heavenly Radio is a radio station, transmitting in the Industrial District, Anywhere City in Grand Theft Auto 2. The music is a mix of Christian pop and soft music. Its headquarters are located in the Vedic Temple.

Listeners are continuously urged by the station's DJ, Venus Ordelia, to convert. She makes very evident attempts to do this, like singing childish songs and speaking like she is trying to hypnotize listeners. On one occasion someone turns down the music she's trying to sing to, making her ironically sound very aggressive.

Trivia[]

  • Rev. Rooney & The Rocksta Choir's "God Bless All The Universe" contained profanities during the Beta stages of development, which were cut for the final version. [1]
  • In Lips 106, a radio from GTA III, an advertisement sampling the songs that can be heard in the station starts with the intro of this track.
  • The song "The Aeon's Day" by Under The Dome can be heard in the background of Venus Ordelia's intro speech.
  • The song Amazing Grace by the Zoneboys is based on an song written by John Newton.
  • Despite Heavenly radio's ideology being Hare Krishna, "Amazing Grace" and "God Bless All The Universe" are Christian songs. It is possible then that the in-game Hare Krishna's ideology is a mixture of Eastern and Western religious practices, as mixing Eastern and Western spiritual practices and beliefs is common among New Age religious movements which Hare Krishna, and especially Heavenly Radio, are parodying.
