We've got a truck turned over near city hall and all kinds of chaos down there. The word of the street says, 'If you don't have to travel, then stay home... and listen with me, Sammy Starock'.
Sammy Starock comes from the School of Hard Knocks!

Rockstar Radio is a radio station in Grand Theft Auto 2. It is hosted by Sammy Starock (voiced by David Deblinger) and plays rock and funk oriented music.

Description[]

Rockstar Radio is only broadcasted throughout the Downtown District of Anywhere City, and as such can only be heard while in that district. The station plays rock and funk oriented tracks, and occasionally features on-air phone calls and letters from listeners. There are three phone calls in the original PC version of the game. The first being from Starock's mother, the second being somebody from the "spiritual country" rambling on about masturbation, and the third being a performance artist preparing for a performance. Throughout the caller segment, Reed's "L.E.D.", which is also featured on Futuro FM, can be heard playing in the background. In the PlayStation version of the game, the call about "spiritual masturbation" was cut and replaced with advertisements for Flipper Dolphin and Silky Milky, likely as a way to censor the caller's in-depth description of masturbation.

Much like Lo-Fi FM in the Industrial District of Anywhere City, Rockstar Radio features a weather update from Jill Tasker. According to Tasker, during the time and day of the show's airing, it was "cloudy" and the "pollen count [seemed] relatively low". Throughout the weather report, it plays Ohjaamo's "Complications", which is originally from Head Radio in Grand Theft Auto.

The radio has an all-around "bad boy" attitude. The DJ makes controversial comments purely for shock value, such as stating that he's "the worst racist there is".

According to the host, Sammy Starock, the station often receives letter bombs, suggesting that someone has tried to blow up the station on purpose.

The station is an obvious reference to Rockstar Games, the publishers of the Grand Theft Auto series since Grand Theft Auto: London 1969. The DJ's name references the company's president and executive producer of the series, Sam Houser, and Rockstar's name itself.
