"Mother's Day Mayhem" is the first segment of the sixth episode of Spidey and his Amazing Friends. It premiered on September 3, 2021.
Synopsis[]
Doc Ock escapes from jail to interrupt the Mother's Day picnic in the park.
Plot[]
Today is Mother's Day. Peter, Gwen, and Miles are going to the Mother's day picnic at the park with Peter's Aunt May, Gwen's mom, and Miles' mom. Gwen has made a special Mother's Day card for her mom, and plans to give it to her at the picnic. However, Detective Stacy suddenly recieves a call from the station that Doc Ock has escaped from jail. As much as she wanted to spend Mother's Day with her daughter she cannot ignore her duties as a police officer. Gwen, though a little upset, understands. Detective Stacy heads off and promises to meet Gwen at the picnic. Gwen decides to suitup and help her mom catch Doc Ock. Then she will be able to go to the Mother's Day picnic. Peter and Miles join her, even though she had the intention to go alone.
Thanks to the security cameras in the city, the Spiders track down Doc Ock, who is on the run with CAL, and with a new diabolical plan to ruin Mother's Day. Ghost-Spider is ahead of Spidey and Spin, and engages Doc Ock as she and CAL descend into the sewers. Ghost-Spider chases after her, only to be washed away by incoming water released by Doc Ock. Spidey and Spin show up, and they too get get washed away. The water ruins Gwen's Mother's Day card, and Doc Ock and CAL have escaped. Gwen is sad and regrets going after Doc Ock by herself. Her friends confort her and assure they can still catch Doc Ock.
In order to find Doc Ock, they head to her jail cell at the police station, where they hope to find some clues that could help them find her. Detective Stacy lets the Spiders into Doc Ock's cell, and they start searching. At first, they find nothing out of the ordinary. But Ghost-Spider notices scratches on a brick, and its loose. She pulls it out and finds a map of the underground water system, which bring water into the city, including the park. Detective Stacy and the Spiders deduce that Doc Ock plans to ruin Mother's Day by flooding the park where the Mother's Day picnic is being held. The Spiders hurry after Doc Ock while Detective Stacy heads for the park to get everyone to safety.
Doc Ock and CAL make it to the main water control room, and make their way to a big wheel that will cause the park to be flooded. But since the two do not know how to work together, they fight over who gets to turn the wheel. The Spiders arrive just in time to save the day. The three engage Doc Ock and wrap her and CAL up in their webs, but not before she manages to break the wheel, causing the water to rush into the park. Without the wheel they cannot turn off the water. The park is already starting to flood with water, and families quickly become trapped. However, Ghost-Spider is able to use her webs to make a new wheel, and together with her friends they manage to turn off the water, saving Mother's Day.
Afterwards, the Spiders make their way to the park, and also pickup last minute Mother's Day gifts along the way. Peter gives Aunt May a bookey of flowers, and Miles gives his mom a box of chocolates. Since Gwen's card got ruined she reads out what it was meant to say to her mom. She loves it and gives her daughter a hug.
