John Kahrs is an American CG animator and director who worked at both Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar.
He started at Pixar in the late 1990s, working on their feature films until he left for Disney in 2007 after both studios merged. At Disney, Kahrs became an animation supervisor on Tangled and would go on to direct the short Paperman, which tested the studio's "Meander" process of combining both traditional and CG animation techniques. The short would go on to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
In August 2013, Kahrs left the Disney studio to pursue other projects including Netflix's Over the Moon where he collaborated with Disney alumnus Glen Keane.
