Dale Russell Barnhart was an American animator.
Born in Greene, Iowa; Barnhardt joined the Disney Studio in the 1950s and worked as a layout and background artist for the Disneyland anthology show before working on feature films, such as Sleeping Beauty, The Sword and the Stone, The Jungle Book, and Winnie the Pooh.
After finding working outside of Disney once before with Jay Ward Production's The Alvin Show, Barnhart would join other animators, such as Lance Nolley and Don Lusk at Hanna-Barbara Productions where he worked shows, like Jabberjaw, Ri¢hie Ri¢h, Super Friends, Laverne & Shirley in the Army, Yogi's Space Race, Dynomutt Dog Wonder, The Banana Splits Adventure Hour, The Smurfs, Pound Puppies, Challenge of the GoBots, and their 1973 feature film, Charlotte's Web.
He died in Sante Fe, New Mexico on April 7, 1996.
