Basil I. "Vasili" Davidovich was a Russian-born animator, who did layout work for Walt Disney Animation Studios at different points in his career.
Davidovich began his animation work in the mid-1930s, where worked at both Disney and Warner Bros. Animation. Joining the 1941 Disney animators' strike and a brief stint at Screen Gems, he left the studio for a time and continued to Warner Bros. While there, Davidovich worked under the direction of Bob Clampett, Chuck Jones, and Arthur Davis, with former Disney animators: Don Williams, Bill Melendez, and Emery Hawkins, where he would animate various Looney Tunes shorts related to characters, like Bug Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Porky Pig.
When he returned to Disney in the 1950s, Davidovich worked as a layout artist for Disney's anthology series before working on several films, like Sleeping Beauty, The Sword in the Stone, The Jungle Book, The Aristocats, and Robin Hood.
He died on May 28, 1978 in Santa Barbara and is interned at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles.
