Nakama: Most Intimate (2016)　音の流れがとても美しい

もう随分と前のことだと思っていたのだけど、彼らをもっきりやで聴いたのは、ほんの数ヶ月前だったのだ。ミニマル的なアプローチをとりながら、楽器の音響的な広がりを聴かせる、ジャズと現代音楽が渾然としたような音楽の面白さに惹かれた。 それは彼らのルールによる記譜がなされていて、即興を抱合するような作曲のもとにあった。

昨年12月にリリースされたNakamaの最新作である本作は、より明瞭な作曲行為により曲の外枠が作られている。曲の魅力、曲の短さも相まって、とても聴きやすいものになっている。そして、彼らの楽器そのものを聴かせる、音の流れがとても美しい。地響きを立てるベースがとても印象的。

LPレコードのジャケットはエンボス。そこに英語と日本語が刻まれている。仏教説話がアイデアの源、らしい。それに奏者のコメントも。確かに、そんな音楽だ。
