Michael Lenett was a Democratic member of the Maryland State Senate from January 10, 2007 to January 12, 2011. While in the Senate, Lenett served as Assistant Deputy Majority Whip.

Lenett earned his Bachelor's Degree and also received a Magna Cum Laude in 1984. At Georgetown University he earned his Master's Degree and Juris Doctor in 1988. Lenett also earned his Master of Laws degree with distinction in 1992.[1]

Elections

2010

In the September 14 primary election, Lenett lost to Democratic candidate Roger Manno by a margin of 5,892 to 5,020.[2]

Across the country in 2010, state senate elections were held in 43 states. 1,167 state senate seats were at stake. In all 1,167 state senate districts with an election in 2010, only 19 challengers (12 Democrats and 7 Republicans) defeated an incumbent state senator. Manno was one of the 12 Democratic challengers who defeated an incumbent Democratic state senator.

2006

On November 7, 2006, Lenett ran for District 19 of the Maryland State Senate, beating Mike Ryman.[3]

Lenett raised $207,553 for his campaign.[4]
