Bruce Lundeen (Republican Party) ran for election to the Minnesota State Senate to represent District 62. He lost in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Lundeen was a 2018 Republican candidate for District 62A of the Minnesota House of Representatives; a 2017 candidate for Ward 10 representative on the Minneapolis City Council; a candidate for Minnesota State Senate District 62 in 2014 and 2016 and District 61 in 2011; and a Green Party candidate for the Minneapolis City Council in 2009.
Biography
Lundeen studied at North Carolina State University and earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. His professional experience includes serving in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968 to 1972 and working as a tour boat captain and as the owner of his own refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating company, Bruce Arnold Mechanical.[1][2]

2017
Minneapolis, Minnesota, held a general election for mayor, all 13 seats on the city council, both elected members of the board of estimate and taxation, and all nine members of the park and recreation board on November 7, 2017. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was August 15, 2017.
Incumbents ran for re-election to all but two of the city council seats. Ward 3 Councilman Jacob Frey filed to run for mayor instead, and Ward 8 Councilwoman Elizabeth Glidden opted not to run for re-election.[3] Incumbent Lisa Bender defeated Saralyn Romanishan, David Schorn, and Bruce Lundeen in the general election for the Ward 10 seat on the Minneapolis City Council.[4]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 3, 2014. Incumbent Karen Clark was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Bruce Lundeen was unopposed in the Republican primary. Yolandita Colon ran as an Independence candidate. Clark defeated both Lundeen and Colon in the general election.[9][10][11] 2011Lundeen was defeated by Jeff Hayden (D) in the October 18 special election. Matt Brillhart (I) and Farheen Hakeem (G) also ran. Hakeem came in second, losing by a 595-1856 margin. Lundeen garnered 221 votes.[12] |
