Saint James Middle School, abbreviated as SJMS, is the private[1] middle school that Anne Boonchuy, Sasha Waybright, and Marcy Wu attended before they were transported to Amphibia. It is located in Los Angeles, California on Earth.
Appearance[]
The school takes on a classical school appearance, made of red bricks and cement. The school has a white roof supported by brick pillars and A.C. units distributed along the side of the roof. There is also a white flag hanging from a gray pole in front of the school, bearing the logo. The building is surrounded by a paved stone walkway and with grass and oddly placed trees in the vicinity.
History[]
Saint James Middle School is Anne, Sasha, and Marcy's school that they go to, and Principal Murphy is the school's principal. While at school, Marcy spends most of her time doing schoolwork, but is sometimes distracted by her video game console. Anne however doesn't pay much attention to her schoolwork and turns it all in incomplete. Sasha and Anne would often cut school too. Anne is also occasionally bullied by Maggie.
One day, while Principal Murphy was making school announcements, Marcy hacked the school's PA system where Sasha took control and threw a K-Pop dance party, playing "As If It's Your Last", while Anne and Marcy released some dogs while everyone was dancing. However, Principal Murphy caught Anne, Sasha, and Marcy and took them to her office. She let Sasha and Marcy off the hook except Anne because she had been returning unfinished work and taking the easy way, so she asked her to write an essay on what she wants to do with her life, before telling Anne happy early birthday.[1]
On the day of Anne's 13th birthday, Anne arrived on her bike when Maggie tried to steal a special Thai snack her mother had made for her. Sasha came and warned Maggie if she didn't stop picking on Anne, she would not go to Sasha's pool party, which she did. In science class, Sasha and Anne were fixing to digest frogs (especially one that looked like Hop Pop Plantar), however, Sasha faked being sick as an excuse to cut school and spend time with Anne on her birthday. Anne and Sasha's science teacher let them go to the nursing room, only for Anne to discover Sasha wanted to cut school, though Anne was reluctant, Sasha convinced her to do it. So, Anne and Sasha left school and went to go do some activities while Marcy stayed behind.
Marcy later went to the library after school. However, the following day, the school noticed that Anne, Sasha, and Marcy were missing. During Anne's time on Earth with the Plantar family, Anne still had schoolwork she had to do that Mrs. Boonchuy brought home.
During the Frog-vasion, Anne, Sasha, the Plantars, Captain Grime, Mr. Boonchuy, Mrs. Boonchuy, Lady Olivia, General Yunan, Mr. X, and Jenny went to the school to work on a plan. While working on a plan, Anne and Sasha went to go check to make sure they weren't followed. Anne went to her locker and took out the essay that Principal Murphy asked her to write which she hadn't. Sprig was still onto the letter, Mr. X was giving Yunan and Olivia laser weapons against the Frobot army, and Polly gave Frobo a new body. They then work on a plan how to stop the invasion, Anne along with her parents, the Plantars, Mr. X, and Jenny will battle the Frobot army while Sasha, Grime, Yunan, and Olivia will board the Newtopia Castle and shut down the Forcefield.
Sometime after the invasion, Anne and Sasha went back to the school after Marcy moved and graduated from it.

Students of the school wear school uniforms. They wear short-sleeved grey t-shirts, and there are 3 colors that a student can wear for their bottom: purple, pink, and green. Females wear knee-length skirts in different colors while males wear khaki pants. An optional hoodie is available. One exception would be Sasha Waybright, who wears a mid-sleeve jean jacket, which she possibly supplied herself.
The school's emblem features its initials on a 4-colored shape. The first S is on the yellow, the J is on the pink, the M is on the blue, and the 2nd S is on the purple.

- "Saint James Middle School" is the name of two real schools in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Saint James Township, Missouri, respectively.
- Concept art showed Anne wearing a Catholic school-style vest with her uniform, which may hint the school is a parochial school.
- Entry 26 of Marcy's Journal: A Guide to Amphibia reveals that the school has mandatory prayer services.
- The school has different types of clubs, as Anne was part of the bouldering club mentioned in "Wally and Anne".
- During the flashback in "Reunion" where the school is shown, students whose designs were inspired by the main characters of the video game Earthbound can be seen in the background.
- The school is named after the school that Matt Braly attended.[4]
- During the episode "The Shut-In!", an alternate version of the school is featured, called "Saint Joe's School".
- During the episode "All In", it's revealed SJMS is a private school by Mr. X on account of it having a metal shop.
