Ksilamidin je lek koji deluje kao antagonist 5HT2A receptora, i u manjoj meri 5HT1A receptora. On ne prelazi krvno moždanu barijeru iz kog razloga je koristan za blokiranje perifernih serotonergijskih responsa poput kardiovaskularnog[3][4] i gastrointestinalnog dejstva,[5] bez proizvođenja centralnih efekata 5HT2A blokade kao što je sedacija, ili ometanja centralno delujućih 5HT2A agonista.[6]
