Glitter and Sparkle

Welcome to Sparkle N Sprinkle's
May 1 New Reveal Blog Hop!

This month we are doing something a little different.  Instead of releasing new stamp sets, all the Designers have been creating projects with Dreamweaverstencils, using various techniques and products.

Be sure to visit the SNS Blog all month long, as well as the Designers' blogs (you can click on the Designers' names to go directly to their blogs) to see different techniques used with the stencils.   Each Designer always posts 2 different projects to the SNS Blog and 4 different projects to their personal blogs each month.
Some of the techniques you see throughout the month is dry embossing with your stencil; double glitter technique; combining embossing pastes with glitter, embossing powders, flock, and/or guilded flakes; using the embossing paste as a resist; double embossing paste technique and lots of other fun ideas.

All Dreamweaver stencils, soap, and embossing pastes are 20% off until May 3.  So once you finish the blog hop, head on over to the store and start shopping.
Large Feather is the stencil featured with this month's Technique Video Kit.

On May 3, one GRAND PRIZE WINNER will be selected from the comments left on the Designers' blogs.  Please leave a comment with each Designer in order to be eligible for the Grand Prize.  You never know who the Mystery Designer will be that has the winning comment.

The winner will be able to choose $55 worth of any products listed under theStencils and Templates category, plus mica powders (Pearl Ex) and of course, glittersembossing powdersflock, and sticker paper or adhesive sheets.

The Grand Prize Winner will be announced on June 3 on the SNS Facebook page, the Designer's blogs, and here on the SNS Blog.

Hi All!!
This is my second month guest designing with Sparkle N Sprinkle.
This month it is all about stencils,
which by now I am sure you know I love!!

Now a little bit about how my card was created!
I started with a grey metallic card stock panel to stencil on my
Dreamweavers Stencil Bird & Branches (DR-LL526) on
using Dreamweaver Silver Embossing Paste (DR-DSP)
and applying with a Palette Knife (DR-DPK).

While the embossing paste was still wet, I applied
embossing powder  Midnight Madness (EP252),
then heat set it with my heat gun....it is so pretty and full of sparkle!

I set it aside to dry completely....(I left it alone overnight)

I cut a black panel that I added an Anna Griffin die to for the base.

I used  Black Detail (EP171) embossing powder on the sentiment
which is from Shabby Chic Bird House (481).

The die cut and panel were adhered with

I made a few Roses using Spellbinders Spiral Blossom Four.
I colored these with PanPastels, and brushed on glitter.

The leaves under the Roses are from

Another of my favorite dies I purchased recently is the

And, after all it is not me speaking, it is the cat  on the card..lol.

I started by sponging TH Distress ink using the Mini Ink blending Tool,
then spritzing with water  using the Spritzer Bottle
for my background sky.

I cut 3 Memory Box Puffy Clouds, which have been embossed

The cat was cut using Impression Obsession Cat set
and the dog is from Impression Obsession Dog set.

The kites are Impression Obsession Kite Die Cut set.

Vintage Button Card

Hi All!!
I have another vintage button card to share with you today
using more of the scrumptious Crafty Secrets Button Cards digitals.

I printed a background paper from the Crafty Secrets Sew Decorative CD
then distressed the edges with my DIA Zutter.
Wow, I love how this paper matches perfectly to the image,
like it was made just for it..!

I rummaged around in my drawer of "whatnots" and pulled out a pretty
pink flower and a couple of little crochet doilies.

The buttons were clipped from an old piece of clothing.
A little tip/hint for you is to go to garage sales at look at used clothing
in a whole new way...BUTTONS....
who cares about the clothes, right?....just look for unusual buttons!
Look for old jewelry that can be taken apart, too...
they make great accents for your paper crafting!

I added a bit of ribbon/bow and pearls down the front of her chemise.

Visit the Crafty Secrets blog HERE,
Our next  linky party is May 4th
where you can join in and just might be the lucky
winner of some fabulous digitals!

Flowering Almond

This is my post on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog today.
You can use my code DIANE-10 anytime
at the online store to save 10%
on your entire order!!

Hi there, Diane with you today.
Don't you love Springtime with all the buds and blooms?
I certainly do and in the Spring  in Michigan
we have a Blossom Queen and parade each May.
some of the beautiful blossoms here are
Flowering Almond as shown below.

I had a what you might call a light bulb moment
to make a few Flowering Almond blossoms of my own.
What is rather unique about these, is what I used to create them with.
When you receive an order from Classy Cards 'n Such,
it always arrives beautifully wrapped in pretty pink tissue.
I decided to not waste it and make a few flowers with it, recycle is always good!

To start I cut 3 layers of the tissue, stacked them
and used Heartfelt Creations Botanical Wings die to cut them.
I pulled all the layers apart,
then used a bit of Art Institute Adhesive in the center of each flower to adhere.
Once almost dry, I fluffed and crunched up the petals to get my blossoms.

I embossed a background with Cherry Blossoms EB folder by Anna Griffin.
That was topped with Joy! Crafts Billies Circle die.

I cut a few branches using Impression Obsession Large Bird on a Branch die.
I snipped the bird off on each branch, poor bird, I do that to him a lot!

I then added my blossoms, and 3 butterflies cut from Joy! Crafts Fantasy Butterflies.
The sentiment is from the JustRite stamp set Floral Basket
which was embossed using Sparkle N Sprinkle Silver Detail embossing powder.

I hope this helps you to rethink your own packaging
and recycle into something beautiful!

Don't forget we have a weekly challenge.
We would love to have you join us!

Make A Wish

Happy Friday!!!
Today is the last Friday for April....
Can you believe it....where "does" the time go!

It also is my last post for April as Guest Designer at Sparkle N Sprinkle.
However ..I am still guest designing there 2 more months...yay!!

Today I have my second card I made using the beautifully detailed
"Old Well" stamp set.

I colored the image with my Copics,
then added Brushable Glue on the leaves
and dabbed on Parisian Mist glitter.

I used the same Brushable Glue for my die cut butterfly
only this time using Cherry Lemonade glitter.
I did the same for the water in the bucket and the little
die cut bird I added, using Misty Blue glitter.
The sentiment was stamped with Versafine vintage sepia
and fussy cut out.
The entire panel was adhered to a card stock with Tear-ific Tape.
This is a beautiful stamp set, one of four that were released for April.
It not only has the image and  sentiment I used,
but two bunnies and three additional sentiments to choose from.

Make sure to stop back on the evening  of April 30th
to see our new "May Reveal"....
it is one you won't want to miss!!!

Love Is A Four Legged Word

Hi there, this is my post on the Dies R Us blog today...

Happy Thursday, Diane with you today!

I had a bit of "happy" mail the other day with some new
dies from Dies R Us!!

I have been "hearting" the "stitched" dies
and could hardly contain myself when they arrived.

I used Cheery Lynn Designs Horizon Fishtail Banners
for the background.

Then came my new Memory Box Stitched Circle Layers!
I cut two of these and stacked one on the other.

I cut the Graphic 45 Raining cats and Dogs image using

A few images from the same paper were "fussy cut",

then popped up for a bit of 3D effect.

To finish, I simply added a paper bow
using Cheery Lynn Designs Pretty Bows.

Totally Teal

Happy Day All!
It's time once again for a new challenge at
Darlene is our hostess this week and she has chosen
"monochromatic"
as our theme!

I have to admit, there are two kinds of cards I am not good at
one is "guy" cards and the other is "monochromatic".
Don't ask me why, but I think it is my "straight line" thinking..lol!
So did I struggle with this card?
You betcha!
I actually stamped way in advance, added the ribbon and then
let it sit for about a week and a half,
trying to decide if I liked it so far..LOL

Well, it was getting down to the wire so to speak, so I persevered on,
ending with what you see here!

The card base is SU Bermuda Bay.
I have a ton of color card stocks
and I am giving them my best effort to use them!

The background stamp is a Hero Arts.
The ribbon is SU and the flowers are from Michaels.
The butterfly is a very old Stampabilities, it says 1999 on it!!
So, that is how this card came to be!

Now head on over and see the beautiful creations at
"The Sisterhood" that my "sistahs" have to inspire you!

Sweet May

This is my post at the
Classy Cards 'n Such blog today
for our latest challenge using the inspiration photo below.

Don't forget, you can save 10% on your entire
CCNS  online order anytime by using
my code DIANE-10.

Hello Classy Friends, Diane here with you today.
This week our challenge is an inspiration photo
with an option to add Dogwoods or Cherry Blossoms.

Being Spring is finally here and I know my own Dogwood will
be in full bloom in the next few weeks, I was inspired to make
my own Dogwood blooms.

Here is a photo of my blossoms  from last year.

And, here is my card.

I used Spellbinders Dogwood die, cutting the petals from crepe paper.
I inked the petal edges with Fired Brick Distress Ink.
The stamens were dipped in glue, then in lemon flower soft.
Tip: (I wanted to mention, you could use this same die to make a
Cherry Blossom, just by cutting and adding an extra petal.)
I set these aside to dry, then embossed my cream card stock

I cut a pretty a panel from Bellisima A5 Paper Pack

The Sweet May words are from the Graphic 45 Time To Flourish paper pad.
A little butterfly was added,
using the smallest die from Joy! Crafts Butterfly Trio
I simply finished my card with a bow.
