Computer Has Been Shut Down Due To MORE Storms !!!
I haven't fallen off the face of the earth...really...just after being without power, I had to try and catch up...laundry...gardening (couldn't work in the garden as no place to clean up)dishes, and we could eat food again......but last night (wednesday) and earlier in the afternoon we breifly lost power AGAIN.....due to more nasty storms...will it ever quit.....I have to unplug my computer totally during these storms...for some reason lightening loves my house.....it has hit my computer twice in previous years......so I will be back with some new goodies soon...I promise! But just to let you know....we are due for more storms Saturday night and into Sunday morning.....sigh!!!
I will share a funny little photo with you of my kitty Soot...I had set this tea set aside to polish it, and she thought it was the perfect nap spot...this little set I purchased last week at a garage sale for only $3.....a cute find!

I'm A Little Teapot.......
This little teapot card was made very quickly with my new Cricut cartridge A Child's Year...oh how I LOVE the images and extra's in this "baby"!!! While supper was cooking I couldn't wait to start cutting.....I was very pleasantly surprised when I saw a teapot image and quickly cut a teapot card......simple and not quite what the "cartridge" had in mind, but it works for me...lol!!
I cut the lid off the teapot, inked the edges and put it back on to define the lid.......more later!!

Fun In The Sun.....
The Shabby Tea Room's challenge this week is "Fun In The Sun"......what is more fun then a garden full of flowers or an afternoon outdoor concert.....our town has a concert every week at the park downtown on the river...you bring your own chair and enjoy the music...it's as much fun watching the people as it is listening to the concert.....I combined the two...flowers and music......I wanted to make my "entry" as vintage and shabby as I could.....I cut a layered flower from a piece of vintage sheet music I had spritzed with two colors of spray...look real close and you can see the shimmer!! The background paper is nothing but a wonderful piece of glittered paper embossed with a music notes embossing folder.....the Monarch butterflies were punched from black glitter paper...the ribbon is sheer with polka dots (click on photo for a better view)...I love how this card turned out in all it's glittery~shabby goodness!!

Vintage Tag Kits In My Etsy Shop
I have a few "vintage look" tag kits in my Etsy shop as well as the sample tag...go take a peek......I love how this tag turned out......the kit has a "wood" tag that is so easy to stamp on~monarch butterfly~old 1 cent stamp~bit of DS paper~a small tag I have stamped a flourish on~button~paper rose~bit of mulberry paper~felt bird~ribbon...comes in a vellum bag tied with twine to be used in your creation.....my tag is just a sample of what you can do with the kit.....can be used as is or added for a card front!! I would be happy to stamp on "your" wood tag like the image on my sample if you would like. My Etsy link is on my left sidebar...thank you!!
The Shabby Tea Room Challenge

My Garden Inspiration #4~Just Add Ink Challenge #20 and Blogger Issues
Whew...finally back on blogger...it has been down for me for a few days...scarey...but I'm back now...so onto the new!!
One of my very favorite flowers in my garden are the "Iris's"....I know I say every flower is my favorite, but there is just something about an Iris that is so breath-takingly beautiful!! They are so regal and delicate with the little ruffled edges...the colors are like no other.......I just wish they would stay in bloom all summer!! I have lots of different species and add as many more each year as I can find....you will be seeing more of these in the weeks to come...I wish you all could see them "in real life" they are.....stunning!!
This card was made with a retired SU set called "Still Life Stems"...I colored it in with my SU markers......also adding it to the Just Add Ink Challenge #20...stitching!!!...I did faux stitching on the Iris CS and machine stitching around the DS paper...see you tomorrow!!
