Kill the snake. We'll burn the journal. If he wants it, it's dangerous. And you two will file a report that he attacked us, and you'll keep your mouths shut. Step aside.
„
~ Milton reveals his true colors to Judy and Nick and orders his children to kill Gary after learning the truth about the journal from him.
“
Begin the expansion. Freeze Marsh Market. Flush everyone out! Waterfolk, like foxes, are lesser mammals. If I say they helped a dangerous snake, no one will care what we do. You're going to a dark cell, Mr. Wilde, just long enough to read the headline of your partner's demise. You should've left town when you had the chance.
„
~ Milton Lynxley ordering the beginning of his plan and sadistically taunting Nick Wilde with the incoming demise of him and Judy.
Milton Lynxley is the main antagonist of Disney's 64th full-length animated feature film, Zootopia 2, the second installment of the Zootopia franchise.
He is the head of the Lynxley Family and the father of three children: Pawbert, Kitty, and Cattrick Lynxley. In addition he is also the grandson of Ebenezer Lynxley, who was falsely known as the founder of Zootopia and its climate walls. Milton is determined to preserve his family's legacy by preventing the truth of his grandfather's crimes from being publicly exposed by Gary De'Snake along with his friends Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde respectively; so mush so that he orders for the trio to be killed and to destroy the Lynxley Journal, which contains the true history of Zootopia's foundation. Because of this, he serves as the archenemy of Gary De'Snake as well as becoming the second nemesis of both Judy and Nick after their first sworn enemy Dawn Bellwether.
Milton is a Lynx who serves as the elderly, grandfather-like presence within the Lynxley family. His fur markings give the appearance of a small "beard" and "mustache", making his age easy to distinguish. Just like the rest of his relatives, he has dark streaks outlining his cheeks and eyes, along with thick black eyebrows that stand out against the bright white and gray sections of his coat. His ears are tall, pointed, and tufted with black fur at the tips. In contrast to Pawbert, whose eyes are hazel-gold, Milton's eyes are a striking blue.
Personality[]
Milton usually carries himself with a composed, paternal air, but that demeanor vanishes when his business instincts take over. Beneath the calm exterior is a relentless, sharp-minded and utterly cold-hearted figure determined to reclaim the Lynxley family's book about Zootopia's climate walls and protect their heritage. He even challenges the current mayor by reminding him how many leaders before him let power slip through their fingers. Because of this, Milton can come across as intimidating, menacing, strict and shrewd, which is the class of guy who exploits the insecurities of powerful individuals. This hints that he can strip that power away if they refuse to cooperate with him.
But despite his strict superiority, Milton is revealed to be a total coward and showed very little regard of his own children during the climax of the film. For instance, he ordered a hesitant Captain Hoggbottom to kill his own son, Pawbert, with a poison dart along with Judy and Gary. Another example would be when Mayor Winddancer mustarded up the courage to stand up to the corrupt family, Milton cowardly used his own son and daughter as living shields during the fight. While he does appear to value his family name, it is mainly him wanting to keep his wealth and reputation, as opposed to any genuine care. This is evidenced by his cold treatment toward his own children and only warming up to them when they can provide some benefit, such as when Pawbert revealed to them he knew the location of the documents for the original patent of Zootopia and was planning on burning them. In addition, he is never shown interacting with his family in any positive way.
Furthermore, aside from his facade of a charming socialite being publicly disgraced after he’d been apprehended and put in jail alongside his children by Nick and Judy as well the ZPD, Milton Lynxley is a corrupt and completely vicious genocidal crime lord and one that’ll never cease his cruel under-handed manipulation tactics and cold revolting businessman demeanor in order to stay in power.
Biography[]
Along with his children, Milton hosts the Zootennial Gala, where Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde go undercover to locate Gary De'Snake, a viper who seeks to steal an old book on display that is credited to Milton's late grandfather, Ebenezer. Gary finds and steals the book and Milton and carries the two towards the hallways of the manor with Judy in hot pursuit. When ending in a room with a fire place Gary tells Judy that he and other snakes are not the true bad guys and that the journal has the proof he needs to clear his family name and they can return home, then suddenly Nick whacks Gary with a frying pan and lets go of both Milton and the journal. Cattrick and Kitty rush to their father's side, where Milton ordered them to kill Gary and burn the journal to keep its secrets. He issues a stern warning to Judy and Nick, threatening them with consequences if they dare to report the incident, insisting they stay out of the way while they deal with Gary. However, Judy retaliates by igniting a fire, just as Gary begins to regain consciousness. Gary accidentally lodged onto of his fangs onto Chief Bogo when he arrived, causing Bogo to pass out. The situation escalates further when Hoggbottom shows up, in which Cattrick frames Judy and Nick for attempted murder. Judy and Nick make a break for it through an open window that Nick had managed to pry open, which Gary escapes through with the aid of Milton's second son, Pawbert. Meanwhile, Judy escapes with the journal, much to Milton's anger. Milton recruits Mayor Winddancer to get them for him and guilt-trips him by reminding him how many mayors they have "destroyed", in which Winddancer replies that they destroyed two: Leodore Lionheart and Dawn Bellwether, as they both were arrested thanks to Judy and Nick exposing their crimes. Milton reveals that he was the one who hired Winddancer to become mayor and threatens to find Judy and Nick or lose his job for good. So Winddancer decides to get the whole ZPD on a wild goose chase for Judy and Nick.
After Nick gets arrested by the ZPD at the abandoned Honeymoon Lounge, Milton interrogates him from the outside of the police van and asks him about Judy's whereabouts. Nick doesn't tell him anything, so Milton mocks Nick by calling him a lower class predator and injures Nick by scratching his paw. Afterwards, Milton orders the expansion of Tundra Town to Marsh Market to be in full order (which would result in many reptiles losing their homes again), Kitty Lynxley finds a tuft of grey hair and shows it to Milton, who recognizes it as his son Pawbert. So he calls Hoggbottom to find Judy and Pawbert.
As soon as Hoggbottom finds Judy, Gary and Pawbert rushing to the weather walls, Milton orders her to shoot them with a poison dart. Hoggbottom was hesitant on firing until she accidentally pulled the trigger and it almost hit Judy, but then she unknowingly gets shielded by Flash's car with Nick and Nibbles inside of it.
After betraying Judy and Gary, and falling off a the climate wall and surviving, Pawbert returns home, only to be met by Milton abusing him and telling him that he doesn't belong in the Lynxley family. But Pawbert tells Milton that he was working for the family and knows where Reptile Ravine is and plans on burning the patent to save the family name. Whilst he was talking, Winddancer heard everything, and Milton tells him to not speak a word about this or he will lose his job entirely. As Milton was about to show some respect for Pawbert, he gets interrupted by Judy, Nick, Gary and Nibbles who ride into a snowmobile into Milton's office. Milton orders Pawbert to go to Reptile Ravine and destroy the patent at all costs. Judy and Nick chase Pawbert, while Gary and Nibbles try to take on Milton, Cattrick and Kitty; unfortunately, it doesn't go well for Gary and Nibbles, though they are still able to put up a decent fight. Nibbles sees Winddancer in the corner and tells him to fight back against the Lynxleys, telling him to not stand by. Eventually, Winddancer fights back knocking out the Lynxleys, including Milton, while Gary and Nibbles save Judy and Nick from Pawbert's clutches.
The patent ends up being revealed to the public eye, and the Lynxleys were exposed as fraudsters and liars. The Lynxleys, including Pawbert, Cattrick, Kitty and Milton, all get arrested by the ZPD, but not before Milton swears revenge on Judy and Nick for ruining his family's reputation. At the jail cell, Milton argues with Cattrick and Kitty, while Pawbert looks away from them defeated.
During the credits, Pawbert was showing Milton the book "Partnership for Dummies", only for Milton to glare at his own son in disappointment for his failure, so Pawbert embarrassingly goes back to reading.
