Note: NOT to be confused with Uma, the main antagonist of the Disney Channel 2017 original movie Descendants 2.

Uma is a major antagonist in Season 1 and the overarching antagonist in Season 2 of the Disney Channel Argentine original series BIA.

She is an expertised hacker hired by Marcos Golden to hack into the FUNDOM's wifi.

She is portrayed by Mariel Neira.

Biography

Season 1

At the end of the first season, Marcos Golden, the ambitious CEO of LAIX, employed Uma to hack into the FUNDOM's wifi and told her not to make any mistakes, to which she confidently responds that she never does. After ensuring that the place is empty, Uma sneaks into the FUNDOM, and is successfully granted access to its entire database, including video footage and pictures of past activities, before walking away unnoticed.

Season 2

Although not physically appearing, Uma played a larger and pivotal role in the first part of the second season, as Marcos and company finally have access to everything related to the FUNDOM's database, either deleting or plagiarizing any posts or ideas that the FUNDOM came up with, even pinning it on former LAIX influencer and diva, Carmín Laguardia, who has dropped out of the network to start over, to save themselves and avoid any suspicion on them. Thus, her arrival to FUNDOM was met with hatred from most of its members, especially that of Daisy, who doesn't believe that she has truly changed and constantly treats her harshly, to the point of accusing her of being a "spy" and stealing the ideas, including her own, which was actually Marcos's and Mara's doing.

Carmín is upset that no one believes or trusts her, remarking that they are even worse than LAIX due to their hypocrisy and irony in promoting a solidary movement like "BeU", which intends to accept anyone as equal, making the message meaningless. After finding out that the FUNDOM gang is investigating her to determine if she did actually steal Daisy's video, Carmín decides to take matters into her own hands by returning to LAIX, the only place in which all of her problems started. In order to obtain the evidence and clear her name, she manipulates Marcos into allowing her back, stating that she is aware about the FUNDOM gang suspecting LAIX to be involved in the hacking. Initially hesistant, Marcos decides to trust Carmín after all and thanks her for giving him the heads up.

When Jandino, her best friend, finds her there, Carmín is forced to lie to him that LAIX is "her place" so that her cover won't be blown. He is at first upset, and tells the FUNDOM gang about it, supposedly confirming Daisy's suspicions about her from the beginning and disappointing the others. Nonetheless, Carmín tells Jandino that she only wants to get the hacking evidence so that she can be exonerated. Jandino agrees to help her and they still play along with being distant from each other in front of Marcos. For most of her time, Carmín tries to install a spy camera, but fails every time. This further delays her temporary staying at LAIX, when Marcos tells her to record a surprise comeback video for her channel "SoCarmín", which she refuses to do (fearing of what FUNDOM think of her) and is always asking him for more time. When it seems that all hope is lost and Carmín has no one to help her get the evidence, however, there was only one person who could and it was Guillermo, Marcos's right-hand man, who has had enough of his unfair mistreatment towards him and tricked him into confessing his role in hacking the FUNDOM, having secretly caught everyhting on camera and providing it to Carmín with a USB pendrive. Eventually, Carmín plays the video at FUNDOM during the Dancing Games, exposing Marcos, clearing Carmín's name and making the FUNDOM gang realize their mistake of having misjudged her before. Even so, neither Marcos nor Uma are sufficiently punished over their actions since the FUNDOM gang were completely unaware about Uma and Marcos never gave her away.

When Marcos is fired as CEO of LAIX, Guillermo goes behind his back to fill in for the vacant job, taking pleasure in intimidating Marcos just like he did to him in the past. However, Marcos conspirates against him by contacting Uma and sabotage his social media profile and devices. Having found out that Guillermo is the Cobra, Marcos uses this information against Guillermo by blackmailing him into resigning as CEO, give the job back to Marcos and break up with Chiara. Ordering him to obtain personal information from FUNDOM, Guillermo is sent a picture of the kiss between Alex and Carmín, and Marcos demands to see what is it about. However, Guillermo quickly deletes it. Marcos contacts Uma again and she helps him recover the picture, succeeding in sending and posting it to Guillermo's channel, angering Mara and causing her to break up with Alex. Uma is not seen or heard of again afterwards.

Trivia

After the second season finished airing, Disney has not made any announcements about a potential third season that left many questions unanswered. Thus, it is completely unclear whether Uma will return or not to as she, along with Antonio Gutiérrez, is one of the few villains of the series to actually succeed in their plans but were either insufficiently or not punished yet for the severity of the damage they had done.
