Welcome to the Department of Medical Psychology at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf!

The institute belongs to the Center for Psychosocial Medicine. As an interdisciplinary specialty we focus on teaching, research and patient services. Our understanding of medicine with expertise in psychology enables us to offer the services and therapy our patients need. In particular, our expertise allows us to help patients with life-threatening or chronic disease (e.g. cancer, AIDS, kidney or liver transplants). At every stage of their illness and treatment they receive extensive psychosocial counselling and therapy. On the following pages we inform you about the institute's three major areas of interest: offers for patients, research and teaching.
