AHSTW still seeing first win: A Monday night non-conference showdown between the two area rivals saw ACGC upend AHSTW in a game the Charrgers led the whole way.

Jathan South had 25 points on 11-for-18 shooting to lead ACGC, while Noah Kading added 16 and Payton Policky 15 to go along with 11 rebounds and four assists. The Chargers are off to a 3-0 start.

The Vikings remained winless in their first three games, as they got double-digit games from Luke Sternberg (16) and Camden Soukup (14). The Chagers 39-26 at halftime and really put the game in turbo overdrive with a 29-14 run in the fourth quarter.

The Vikings fell Tuesday night to Riverside, 71-62. For the Bulldogs, Brody Henderson and Payton Amdor each had 21 points, while Cole Jeppesen had nine points, Dawson Henderson eight and Owen Fenner seven.

No information was posted as of Wednesday morning for AHSTW’s line.

CAM 52, Boyer Valley 46: The Cougars picked up their second win in a row after losing their first three, downing the Bulldogs Tuesday night in Anita.

Coon Rapids-Bayard 68, Exira-EHK 32: The Crusaders jumped out to a big 48-14 halftime lead, although the Spartans played a little more even in the second half in this Rolling Valley Conference game Tuesday at Coon Rapids.

The Spartans led just once, at 5-4 early, before the Crusaders pushed the lead to 19 at the end of the first quarter and extended the advantage with a huge second quarter to seal the outcome.

Sidney 75, Griswold 44: Connor Bowers had 10 points to lead the Tigers in the Corner Conference loss at Griswold. The Cowboys blew the game open in the second half.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Sidney 54, Griswodl 38: The Tigers were still in the game at halftime, trailing 25-17, but the Cowgirls went on a 17-7 run in the third quarter to put the game in their control.

Amanda Houser had a game-high 18 points to lead the Tigers.

Coon Rapids-Bayard 59, Exira-EHK 36: The Spartans never led as the Crusaders led 33-23 at halftime and pulled away in the second half.

Taryn Petersen had 11 points, while Brylie Anderson and Kadence Brannan-Sporrer each added six. The Crusaders had three in double figures, led by Malia Clayburg’s big game of 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Exira-EHK is 2-2 overall, all their games coming in the Rolling Valley Conference.

CAM 51, Boyer Valley 49: Big games by Maddie Richter and Ada Hansen led to a big Rolling Valley Conference win for the Bulldogs.

Richter had 23 points, nine of those coming off three-point shots, while Hansen had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Ruthie Rich added eight rebounds.

The Cougars led 29-16 at halftime and had to withstand a huge comeback by the Bulldogs to eke out the win, their second on the season.

AHSTW drops 2: The Lady Vikes lost 53-19 to ACGC on Monday and 49-28 on Tuesday.

Against Riverside, Sydney Somers had a great game for the Lady Dawgs, with 14 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Kayden Schnack had 11 points and five steals. No information was available from the Lady Vikes, who trailed 31-9 at halftime.

Addison Carroll led the Lady Vikes against ACGC with eight points, but the team struggled against the Chargers’ pressure that has pushed them to a 5-0 record.

Cam Richter had 22 points to lead the Chargers, while Meranda Gruber added nine as they led 31-11 at halftime and cruised.
