Topic Module 1: Welcome! Module
Content Main: 2.1 Communicate simple information intelligibly
Standard Complementary: 1.2 Understand meaning in a variety of familiar contexts
Learning Main: 2.1.2 Find out about and describe basic everyday routines
Standard Complementary: 1.2.5 Understand a wide range of short supported questions
Learning Main: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able say out at least twice of what they would do in
Objectives certain times of the day.
Complementary: At the end of the lesson, pupils will listen and reply to at least 2 questions correctly.
Activity Pre-lesson: Pupils review numbers in word form.
Lesson delivery:
1. Introduce the time slides to pupils.
2. Pupils listen to audio 13 and point out the time.
3. In groups, pupils are given a piece of a time puzzle.
4. Pupils have to run across the room to find the matching puzzle.
5. Pupils are given a time period and they must tell their partner what they would do at that time.
Post-lesson: Pupils complete the time exercise 1-4 in pg 7 Year 3 Supplementary Worksheet Module.

Topic Unit 0,1,2,3,4, Module Listening
Content Main: 4.2 Communicate basic information intelligibly for a range of purposes in print and digital media
Standard Complementary: 2.3 Communicate appropriately to a small or large group
Learning Main: 4.2.1 Ask for and give very basic personal information using basic questions and statements
Standard Complementary: 2.3.1 Introduce self and others to an audience using fixed phrases
Learning Main: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to write at least 4 details about their friend correctly.
Objectives Complementary: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to ask at least 4 questions correctly.
Activity Pre-lesson: Pupils do a little recap on the topics that they have learnt in Year 1.
Lesson delivery:
1. Pupils sit are asked to introduce themselves to the classroom.
2. Question patterns for Myself: name, age, favourites – food, colour, sports, etc.
3. Pupils refer to ‘’Myself’ & ‘My Family’ Worksheet.
4. Pupils fill in the worksheet and present.
Post-lesson: Pupils colour and decorate their worksheet.

Content Main: 1.1 Recognise and reproduce target language sounds
Standard Complementary: 3.1 Recognise words in linear and non-linear texts by using knowledge of sounds of
letters
Learning Main: 1.1.1 Recognise and reproduce with support a limited range of high frequency target language
Standard phonemes
Complementary: 3.1.1 Identify and recognise the shapes of the letters in the alphabet , 3.1.2, 3.1.3,
3.1.4
Learning Main: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to listen and sounds at least 4 phonemes correctly.
Objectives Complementary: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to read and fill in the blanks of at least 5
words correctly.
Activity Pre-lesson: Pupils are introduced to the sounds h,b,l,f,ss using a videos.
Lesson delivery:
1. Pupils listen to the sounds h,b,l,f,ss and watch the gestures shown by the teacher.
2. Pupils are guided to listen and say out the words by using suitable chants.
3. Pupils look at the ‘Fill in the blanks’ worksheet page 8 Phonics Transition Module. Pupils guess the
words based on the pictures. Pupils are guided to fill in the blanks with the
correct spelling.
Post-lesson: Pupils follow a chant by the teacher using the sounds
