 Parents’ consent on face to face classes
 Learners’ School Data
 Learners Academic Performance
 Grading System
 Enrolment
 Others

IV. BUSINESS OF THE DAY

a. Opinionnaire on the Distribution and Retrieval of Modules

The first agendum of the meeting is about parents’ opinionnaire on the

distribution and retrieval of self-learning modules.

Since, Isulan National High School opted to adopt modular distance learning as
the main mode of students’ education during the covid-19 pandemic, thus, there are
set of guidelines initiated by the school administrators to be followed by the teachers,
students, and parents in receiving and submitting the modules.

In order to assess and determine the status of modular distribution and retrieval
in Isulan National High School, specifically, in senior high school department, the
school administrator initiate to administer a survey in a form of opinionnaire to
determine the perceptions of parents and teachers on the guidelines of module
distribution and retrieval. The result will be used to further improve the services and
guidelines of INHS in the distribution and retrieval of modules.

The survey on parents’ opinionnaire for module distribution and retrieval lasted
for about 1 hour, since I first thoroughly explained the contents of the survey and why
there is a need to have this survey. The parents responded and participated well in the
survey.

b. Parents’ Consent on Face to Face

On October 17, 2021, DepEd already issued a memorandum number 71, s.

2021 with regards to preparations for the pilot face-to-face, expansion and transitioning
to new normal to selected public and private schools throughout the country. Also,
with the lesser number of covid-19 cases recorded for the previous months and
loosening of covid-19 health protocols within the community and the province. The
Isulan National High School then plan to conduct an expanded limited face to face
classes among senior high school students in next couple of months if there is an
improvement on the covid-19 pandemic situation that can warrant the opening of face-
to-face classes.

With this, it is also important to inform the parents regarding the plans of the
school for they are one of the important stakeholders and have the last word whether
they want to allow their children to undergo face-to-face classes. Thus, in order to
determine the decision of the parents whether they are in favor that their children will
undergo, face-to-face classes, the school distributes a parent consent form containing
a question of approval and disapproval of parents on the implementation of face-to-
face classes in Isulan National High School. As I questioned some of the parents with
regards to their opinion on the re-opening of the class, I have found out that parents
have split decision which means almost 50% agree on the opening of face-to-face
classes the same percentage also with parents who disagreed on the re-opening of f2f
classes, and there were some who were still undecided on the re-opening of the face-
to-face classes. The gathered data are so important because these can be used to
estimate how many students will undergo the face-to-face classes and how many will
not.

c. Learners’ School Data

Since. I am handling Grade 12 class, then I have the first-hand data with
regards to the school data of my senior high school students. With this, I need to
collect all their data from their junior high school class this include report card, good
moral, birth certificate, and form 137 or form 10 of the students upon the entry to
senior high school to validate whether the students really graduated or qualified to
enter senior high school. Thus, I just reminded the parents to please submit the data
of their children especially those transferee students as soon as possible.

d. Learners Academic Performance

One of the main agenda of the meeting is to inform the parents on the academic
status of their children. As a parent, they have the right to be informed with regards to
the academic status of their children in all subject areas. With this, I call the parents
one by one to present the academic performance of their children in different subject

areas for the parents to monitor and if possible follow-up their children especially they
have lacking grades or obtained a lower grades in some subjects.

e. Grading System

The Department of Education issued an order in relation to grading system of

new normal education to provide assessment on the activities and performance
tasks submitted by learners.

d. Enrolment
The parents are reminded that the enrolment of second semester of SY: 2021-
2022 is on February 07, 2022. However, in order to be enrolled in the second
semester, the students must have a complete grade in all subject areas.
The parents agreed on this condition.
V. OTHER MATTERS

 Online Classes. Since, their children chose the TVL strand, I have
proposed that if possible we will hold online classes to their major subjects
for we believe that modules are not enough to give students a complete
knowledge and learning on the major subject. Parents agreed on this
proposal, they also suggested that if possible other subjects will also hold
online classes. However, they requested that if in any case students
cannot afford to attend online classes, it will not affect their grades since
the main modality is printed modules and not synchronous online classes.
We both agreed that holding online classes is only intended for
supplementation of students’ knowledge and not a ground for grading
criteria, but they further agreed that students’ module will be sent via soft
copy format.
 Important Dates to Remember:
- January 28, 2022: End of 1st semester/ 2nd quarter.
